Chapter 9- Faulty Intel The forces of the combine had ruthlessly removed all the worthless cities, scattered the people, and Dee was eager to mobilize his entire army.
Dee's face was guant and it had a feral look to it because of his unkept, unshaven face. He was upset, his spoils of war were denied to him by not existing and he was in need of something to satiate his lust. They had moved to this location by the lure of technology complexes and all that would defend it, but they had been tricked!
"There are seventeen empires surrounding our current position as best as we can tell," the scout looked nervous.
"Bah! We have fodder and we have me! Plus the newest recruit," Dee muttered dismissively, obviously distracted by something else.
"But, some of these are....considerably more established kingdoms. Forces and funding far beyond ours, not to mention allies."
Ah yes, allies. Dee knew he had too few allies to call on in case of emergencies. He was the prodigal student of a faction master elsewhere in the world, and recieved funding and semi-frequent communication from the leader of the Federated Suns, but otherwise he was alone.
"How many comparable to ourselves?"
"Six. Maybe 8 if we were to recruit more fighting men."
Dee considered something. A wolfish grin flashed cross his face as he started to work his radio.
"Send in the newest recruit." Dee said, authority oozing from his voice.
A statuesque man walked in. His face looked devoid of any thought or emotion and his body looked as though it were carved from stone. He had been trained and enhanced beyond any normal soldier. He was the perfect warrior, suited only to riding the best of the best.
"State your name," commanded Dee.
"Dum," the warrior responded.
"State your unit name."
"GHR-5H Grasshopper dubbed 'Pacifier of Dee'."
"Excellent..." Dee smiled inwardly as he turned to his rudimentary map of the area. "This is us." Dee pointed at a small, very small, piece of land. "This is who we will attack in 10 minutes." Dee made a circle with his hand encompassing everything else. "Make yourselves ready."
The ten minutes came and went quickly, but Dee was mounted up and charging off. It wasn't until he marched straight into one of the target's cities that he realised he was alone.
"Bastards! Afraid of a little fighting, are they? Do they not think that we can win against all these little nobodies?" Dee growled. "Fine. I'll beat them all into surrendering myself."
Just then a message comes in.
"Uh, sir? We have engaged enemy forces in this small nation's city but we cannot locate you on our sensors..." Lt Deedle sighs. "The Ant King is with us though, so our forces will take this without you."
"Pacifier of Dee engaging enemies. Friendly forces not detected, will carry on alone." Dum's powerful monotoned voice reverberated through the hornet's cockpit.
Dee giggled haughtily. A war on 3 fronts with his forces seperated and cut off from one another.
"Keen."
