Do you know what I would like for Xmas

I would like the owner of Nev to STOP posting every thought bubble as a suggestion or discussion for the playerbase to fret over.
Ideas such as resetting terrain, limiting empire sizes may have a role within the game; way way way down the road. By poorly articulating, and then defending that position, all sm has managed to do is piss off alot the people that have kept this game afloat.
Atm all we have is a bunch of ideas that may or may not be introduced in the future. But, by posting them as possible futures, and then defending the position (marketing 101 says stfu) you lock yourself into a position, or appear to be caving in to vested interests, you have alienated half the pop of current players.
It is wonderful that you; SM, have decided to make Nev a going concern. However, and this is a BIG BIG BUT, you need to plan what you want Nev to become. You have placed ideas out there that have done nothing but alarm people that have supported you.
I would humbly suggest that you need a new approach. You need to come up with an actual plan of action. You need to learn how to program and how to fault find. You need to tell people a long long way in advance of major changes that WILL occur, not things that you want to occur.
As a final point, since the purchase of Neveron, Loserville has prospered mightily. Money has increased, mergers have occured and restrictions is still in place. How much has Nev improved? Not saying there is anything improper, but impressions do count
If you do not want old players in the game, TELL US. But at least make a plan that can work, because atm all we have are a bunch of thought bubbles that have caused distress amongst the players that have led the playerbase (remember the people tha thave actually paid for DP) to decide that you are no better than Randy and WWS, which is a shame imo.
PS Remember, this is a war game, you need to be reminded of this because the number of times you have actually declared war could be counted on one hand. Diplomacy has its place, but it will never take the place of a good PPC shot to the head.
Merry Christmas all.
Cheers

To be fair, SM, at least from what I understand, fully intends the terrain changes to be a short term thing, happening in the next few weeks, and not in the distant future. If this is the case, then mentioning it now is appropriate.

One thing I take from Hanni's post, is that shadow has never really warred. Often we've had discussions with him about war, and he has 0 idea.
Maybe its time to remove your restriction SM, run a few wars with it. Without unlimited DP. Without pilots (as you suggest is easy to do). You have an emp which you mostly purchased and merged. So with all your knowledge of nev, you really dont know much.
I challange you. Go to War. I'm happy to be the lacky you fight, but get an understanding of what it is like. I for one don't care if there are no changes to nev, and no tickets answerd, for a couple of weeks, if it means you end up with a much better understanding of the game we play...

I am down for buc's suggestion. I would even help SM learn some of the tricks of the trade.

This is a great point. A lot of the things that players are saying have been said over and over. Even in the new era, certain players had warned of this sort of administration coming to pass.
Why are we all of a sudden interested?

Not all of a sudden interested. For me, its a last stand type thing.
What was that definition of insanity?? doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result? Well, I keep talking and I keep being ignored, but I keep talking regardless.
