The above is a list of players / names that have been banned from chat within #neveron.
For the last 9 years I have not really taken much notice of the banned list, until I started making a regular appearance. For some reason I have been placed on the list within the last 24 hours, and I have no Frigg'n idea.
Shadow, if you want me gone from the game say so. But this is bullshit. You have deleted empires and banned people for disagreeing. WTF are you doing?
Tell me if you want me gone. I will sell the empire and you will never hear from me again. Either way, stop acting like a fascist and allow people the right to express their opinion. You may own Neveron, however, we the players own the community, not you. You are now a guest in the community.
Take a real close look at your player base. Do they seem like happy campers?

Shadowmaster was SO busy he can't answer us or be bothered to inform us of empire-raping game changes, but he has a chance to whine about a lack of a help system on the Newbie forums?
MAYBE instead of bending all of our empires over and making us take it in the keister with badly thought out unannounced changes, he might have just fixed the bugs and wrote the help pages he is whining and crying about, hmmm?

each player on the #neveron ban list got placed there based on their individual actions
most of them where banned for insults/ profanity in #Neveron
After the initial over reaction to the Degradation program, I did not enforce [nor did I ask OPs to enforce] the basic rule of "G" rating or better. I allowed the players a period of 24 to 36h of venting to the new system. When I put it in place, I didnt think it would cause such extreme reactions, as the system itself did not really cause that much damage. It was new, and I did not have a proper explanation avaialble for how it actually worked, and so some confusion was understandable.
After 48h of intense rage, and inciting riots in #Neveron, I decided things had been carried on for to long, and way to far. When I did sttempt to come into chat, I was verbally attacked and insulted. My policy has always been to share any opinion you have, but do so in an intelligent and respectful manner. There was zero respect and zero intelligence being shared by CERTAIN players. Once things reached the point of certain {tags} being used, and real life threats where made against me and my family, I decided it was time to take some action.
Hannibal, your ban specifically was explained to you in the very PM that got you banned. You started going on about some specific issues, to which I had no idea what you where talking about. I asked you to clarify, and IDENTIFY yourself, as you had some generic nick in use at the time. You stated to me that you had been drinikng as well at some point. So now I have a 'drunk' player, tossing random comments and insults at me ini #Neveron and PM...wasting even more of my time. I told you to identify to me who you where in order for the conversation to continue. I told you until you did that, I would not respond to you, and you would be banned from #Neveron. Apparently the nexty morning, after you 'slept it off'...you had no recollection of that convo. So THERE is YOUR reason for the short term ban. Once you started ranting about OP / Admin abuse, by pasting your IP all over the place, I was able to finally 'ID' the drunken ranter from a few days earlier. I then removed your ban in #Neveron.
diaready: you where banned because I came to chat asking for SPECIFIC information for the system that I was trying to get addressed at that moment. I made that clear I only wanted that information. I asked you to not waste time by tossing out random ideas about random systems in #Neveron when I was trying to get a system fixed. YOu ignored me and continued on with your pointless interuptions, so I banned you until I was done looking for the information I needed.
buc: YOu got banned for multiple reasons, all of which you are aware of. Interesting how many players come to me in your defense for the 'unfair' deletions of your empires. Are there some facts that are being omitted when you tell the story?
mattbuck: I only banned YOU for YOUR actions. I saw no reason to ban your bots, as that is a tool that is widely used by the playerbase, as you intended it to be used. The bots however where eventually banned, only when YOU started to use them to make your "insults/profanity" and generally negative comments in #Neveron. That is technically ban evasion, which should actually increase your overall ban times shouldnt it?
You where also not banned from #Neveron_Newbies as you had not acted inappropiately in there yet. You of course have started to, and now you are banned from there as well.
If I recall correctly, when i banned dieaready, I was asking for more info on war related functions. For example Raids that where not timing out. Raids that allegedly are now magically upgrading into full DoWs. Since no one was available to provide feedback, or make test raids, and so forth...there was no available data to check that war related functions where in fact working correctly. For every process in Neveron, there are dozens of pages that interact, and multiple tables that data is pulled from to create those dozens of interactions and stats that are displayed everywhere. We where getting down to the last few days to troubleshoot systems, and that one was never completely fixed.
As for me posting in some seemingly random post, I am making the time to answer a straight forward basic question that was presented in an intelligent and respectful manner. Im still answering help tickets, PMs, emails taking phone calls from players as well.
I am NOT ignoring anyone based on some idiotic 'veteran' or 'large level empire' status.
I AM ignoring the players that have shown the highest levels of disrespect and are generally wasting my time with endless rants and negativity.
I feel that my time is FAR better spent working with the players that still want to actually play Neveron

It was more like 12hrs before you came online. You are correct, some things went too far, and I believe I in fact kicked someone who threatened violence. As I continued to do in ##. That sort of thins is not appropriate anywhere. Also, I apologise for the FUSMC tags, they also went too far, though I defend the ODLC ones.
As for respect... well, frankly, with the building degradation and other changes you implemented, it became clear that you do not respect us, your players. You made a promise to us that you would not introduce major changed without consulting us, yet this week we got:
Building Degradation
New training system, including complete removal of the old system
Removal of upgrades
Removal of tower range multipliers
All of these are major changes, yet not only did you not consult with us, for all but building degradation you didn't even bother to tell us. Oh, and please, don't give me the "I told you in chat" rubbish, because as you have stated so many times, most players don't use chat or forums. I think the removal of upgrades is a good thing, but the fact is you lied to us.

I disagree with one point MB made. Do you really think we'd react so strongly to your blatent lies if we didn't want to play neveron? Again it seems you missed the entire point. Let me be very clear, without being banned from the forums...
WE WANT NEVERON TO SUCCEED AND BE FUN.
What we don't appreciate is being lied to, having systems put in without any discussion or fore-warning, and we really don't like an admin who acts at times like a spoilt brat, and treats others with distain and high aggression.
It is NOT neveron we are rallying against, it is your behavour.

I'd like to point out that the ops didn't enforce anything because most of them were too busy stepping down as ops, and I certainly wasn't going to enforce any rules because there would have been no one left in there. Stop pissing on your playerbase.

SM, what's so ridiculous is you don't seem to even fathom the possibility that apologies could go both ways. But no, its still our "over" reaction. It's still our response. It's still our problem, our fault, our failure. Not one iota of taking responsibility for the part of the fault that belongs to you. Not one tiny step in that direction. Not even an inkling that you acknowledge or even realize that you understand or even give a **** why the community got so pissed, and remains if not pissed... despondent and fatalistic over the game's future under your direction.
That's where you fail. Your esteem of this community is so low. This community that stuck with Neveron through thick and thin, through the lowest of the lows and continued to give it money and keep it going due to absolutely nothing... not a thing... other than our love of what this game represents.

mattbuck, I locked this thread for a reason. This topic was about players currently banned. As the person placing those bans, I responded to the thread, and this topic is now resolved.
Do NOT continue to use your access as a Mod to reopen threads so that you can add your personal thoughts, or allow others to further rage on a non productive topic
As for the items you bring up...
I have consulted with many players, using many methods of communication, over the last year as Admin. I also had many years worth of additional discussions before that as a Player Admin, and a player.
The entire point of CodeFest was to try and finally get some of those things put into place, once the new hardware was up and running.
Discussing the multiple issues that plauge Neveron currently, is what led up to the Degrade solution. As I said, I will discuss that in greater detail at a later date.
mattbuck, since you have apologized for your use of the FUSMC tag, and understand the point that things where taken to far when reacting to whatever changes occurred in Neveron, you bans will be removed. I also appreciate your efforts to keep things from crossing the line into the 'real world' with discouraging that type of behavior as well.
As for the removal of upgrades, Ive been saying for over a year those where going away..why is anyone shocked about that? I have also said that 2X/ 3X towers where going away. All that was done was remove the ability to continue to create additional upgrades & 2X/3X towers, futher complicating an already messy situation.
I have heard reports that the tower tweaks may have impacted the already constructed towers...if that is the case, that was NOT intended. I am looking into that as well. We did have some intial tower creation issues, after removing 2X/3X, but those where addressed the next day. I only just found out about the existing tower issue.
As for the training system changes, all i heard again and again in discussions was how everyone wanted the old maint system back, and no one wants any skill up program, and training manually sucked...etc etc etc.
I did NOT make a major post announcing the new training system changes until it was coded. There where several bits of the original code source that where simply missing, and could not be moved to the new servers properly. For the few programs that actually still ran on the new servers, there was no way to tell what those programs where doing, nor was there any way to make adjustments to any of them. There are still several programs like that...they run, but I have no way to make adjustments to them. The current issues with war related functions is a great example of that.
So when it came time to try to deal with training, parts of it had to be rewritten. There was no way to 'guess' what parts where missing, so it was simply written, from scratch, and included many of the player demanded features. At least this training system I can try to make adjustments to as needed...assuming of course we ever get past all this complaining about how Im allegedly such a liar, and start providing Neveron with intelligent feedback on its systems again.
Rodon: I'd be very careful what dirty laundry you start to air out in public. I have been more than cooperative when trying to deal with you, and your empires, and all the issues that you seem to have with them. You insisted on doing things 'your way' on several issues in the past, and all of them have turned into a royal pain in the **** in the long run. The ONE item that I feel Neveron might owe you some sort of leeway, was the infamous 'pink panty' zone renaming, where your empire had named many of its top cities in specific mannerism. There was only 1 other player that had named their empire cities to the extent that you had. I never said I would completely ignore you Rodon, Im sure tho that I said I was done answering your impossible to follow questions, asked from multiple tickets, in multiple empires. You would ask a question from empire1/ticket1, then Id reply. Then you would start a new ticket, in a new empire, and assume that I was able to follow the conversation some how...with this new ticket starting mid thought...seriously? I can go on further if you really want to hash this out in public like this. I wont even get started with how many rules your empire(s) violate...many other players are attempting to get into compliance with many of those rules. What are you doing about any of them? I hope you dont expect your 'donations' to grant you any special exceptions. Ask around how many players have asked for special exceptions on random topics...and have been told no excepts allowed. Maybe you should spend some of your free time working on that instead of hunting for old tickets to post here
