Neveron Chat Rules v1.0

Okay, being that things are beginning to change around here... it is time to give some people a second chance. I am going to wipe the lamer list (mostly) clean (yes even Hoppy). I need to lay down a few basic guidelines for people to follow for now, until the OPs and myself can get together and have a meeting.
1). No Swearing - THIS CHANNEL IS SUPPOSED TO BE PG - a single cuss word (minus the F-bomb) is okay on occasion - it does slip - but please refrain from cussing up a storm. Peoples' children do play this game (hard to believe right?). Kicks / Bans based on the number - and frequency of violations.
2). Do not insult other players on a PERSONAL level. It IS okay to talk a bit of smack about the game... but do not get personal.
3). Listen to the commands of the OPs / HOPs - they are the ones that run the channel. If you have a problem with what one is saying, take it to somebody above him... Managers - Myself. Similarly, if you disagree with an op's bans/judgement, take it to PM.
4). No behavior to disrupt the channel, no flooding links - none of that trash. If it is disrupting, chances are we do not want you to do it. If you have a question about something, do not do it.
5). No drug talk - KIDS are in this channel too. I do not want to hear about it.
6). Do not advertise in our channel. This falls under the disruption category, but must be mentioned here as well, as it was a problem in the past.
7). Get banned in game - Get banned in chat. Simple concept. Cannot ban a player based on what another player feels is not in the rules.
8). No ranting - even while following the other rules, you may still present a hostile environment. No anti-HH anti-DEST anti-HoC anti-ANYONE rants. YOU will be warned when you are out of line. From there the OP is directed to give you a time-out. 24H after the first warning. Progressing the ban upwards from there. This is a serious problem in chat and it should be eliminated or greatly reduced. When the argument gets out of hand it is the players job to stop, or the OP is expected to take action.
9) Talking about Cheating/Hacking/Abusing/Login Abuse in #Neveron, done to the game or another player in the community will NOT be tolerated and is a BANNABLE offense. Just don't do it.

This is a list of channel offenders - their frequency and violation. It is my job to maintain this list, and in my absence the OPS / Managers can post on here. I ask that any issues you have with any ban / kick / op be taken to a manger or myself. This list is to make it known to the public who is banned.

The Big Picture
The #neveron community has improved greatly over the past year. It really has. The number of routinely abusive people has fallen sharply.
That said, one of the biggest complaints against the #neveron channel has been the accusation of bias. Regardless whether or not this perception had any basis in reality (I like to think it did not), a positive community simply cannot exist when one half of that community feels they have been wronged.
Thus, Arden's fresh start. From today onward nobody can claim they have been unfairly treated or that there are different sets of rules for different people.
Our community is our most valuable asset. And everyone needs to take it seriously. The rules listed above are not optional. They are absolute, and they are for everyone.
There is an important fact we all need to recognize and get used to personally caring about: #neveron is a welcoming hall and a meeting place. There is no room for Neveronian nationalism in main chat. We should not find it as difficult to greet our in game enemies as we have historically found it. They are players just like us.
So take these rules seriously. Take your stewardship of main chat seriously. Because while the Ops may police the channel, every player has a share of ownership in it. It is your channel and you should be just as interested in keeping it clean, fun and positive as we are.
So lets take this second start, and second chance, and make it first rate.

i agree with the above and i do try my best to be a better person about bs. in the last few months ive just learned how to use to ignore button on these forums and irc. some people used to just come in here to vent about game issues. the reason to be in a online game is to get to know people. maybe even make freind ships. im happy to say i have more freinds, than foes in neveron. but even a foe id buy a drink at a con? bottom line treat others as you wish to be treated. and as always you are not supposed to get along with everyone in life, just respect them.

The ops met to discuss things, and it was decided that Jake would be unlamered. At the same meeting several absent ops (Eggy, Klien, Nomad, etc) were demoted and discussions were had on the standards of swearing to censor.
For the record, people who try and circumvent bans on the f-word and the like by adding random letters in, or spelling it slightly wrong still get banned. We're going after general tone rather than actual content.
