I just loged in to my lvl 5 Empire and found this message....
"Your mercenary FWAR contract has ended because the faction war is over.
Your maintenance rate has been lowered because of faction inactivity. It has been over 6 months since your last faction war. Participating in faction wars will enable you to raise your maintenance rate."
I know no system is perfect. However, the fact that my other Empire received a message to the opposite effect for the FWAR it took no part in leaves me dumbfunded.
I understand that creating this game and maintaining the game balance is difficult and I would never nock you guys because I appreciate the work you do.
But, come on maybe their would be less to fix if you would think you ideas through. This is a major oversight. When I started playing Neveron I had very little to complain about. Most of the suggestion I would have made where cosmetic and would have tailored the game to my personal likes, which is why you never heard them. But, now you guys fixed so much you broke it.
Your system defies reality.
Suggestion: Get a group of long time players and create a private forum where changes can be dicussed. after you decide you got a good idea then see what the public thinks. If they dont like it dont do it. We are after all the costomer and we are always right. You can call them Donation points all you want but to me they hard earned cash that I can spend somewhere eles.

As a matter of fact, there is discussion taking place between the admins and long time players. Well... not sure if it could be called 'discussion', because in the end, admins never really cared too much and pushed their stuff through anyway.

If true then it is really kind of sad, personally I would like to see Neveron prosper. However, as more players lose intrest and negitive post in the forum,chat, and Nev Mail increse players will dwindle and in turn decress the appeal of the game. I am not saying nev will die but it will not grow and it will become stagnant. Eventually someone with a little cash and some tallent will take advanage of web portal technoligy and the newly released asp.NET 2.0 and recreate this game in the fason the players want. Which I would hate to see happen. I think it was cool of Randy to create the game and keep it free. It shows he has a love for Battle Tech. But you have to listen to your costomer base.
Could you imagine if tomorrow the President of The US or some other superpowers Leader anounced to its people that because of our lack warmongering we are going to stop preventive maintenance on our vehicles. As it is unlikly we will be using them. Or that we will be cutting active duty soldiers meals from 3 to 2 meals a day because, they simply dont need to be in top shape.
Not every idea is a good one, and no idea is problem free.

Hehe, at the current rate they can be on exempt.
I think once a former player (from the uber stealth ppc towers?) went and did that, tho I don't know what became of it.

There was once a suggestion of a group of players to suggest chanes to Randy - however, he decided on major alliance leaders only, ie about 6 people who own lvl13s. It never took off.
