OMG, looks like at least some people really want to play a finished product (you know, complete with some state of the art 3D graphics, cool sound - and no built in need to play / battleplay / being available 24/7 if you can't or don't want to do so) - and/or at least a product with a majority of promised and or most wanted features already finished and up and running.
Unsurprisingly these people are even willing to pay for the priviledge of being able to play the aforementioned finished product which apparently contains most if not all of the features the customers were asking and/or looking for.
WoW, cheap pun intended (SCNR), ain't it amazing?
It's simple. Try to keep your existing customers happy and satisfied with a game/product and your happy and satisfied customers will be spreading the word and help you attract new players/customers. Try to finish/implement (long promised?) features a lot of your players/customers have been asking for, and/or waiting for, first and this could really help to keep your existing players/customers happy and satisfied. Just the right mood to help encourage sales/donations, spread the word or mouth - and to help attract new players/customers.
Excellent mass market products tend to sell like hotcakes. Almost everybody wants them and you won't even need to promote them once the machinery gets rolling - word of mouth should do the job -, for free.
Even an excellent niche market product could sell quite well - within the limits of its niche -, and of course word of mouth could do the marketing job for free too.
Now back to the 'silenced' [like in raided, and/or surrendered, and/or decimated to death] NOOBs [and/or un/factioned lower level empires], errrm, sorry, the silence of the NOOBs.

well, let's see if you can find an admin in WoW who's working some hours to fix that nasty litle bug you got, wich is occuring only very rarely. and is partially caused by the need to code ultra complex game mechanics.
i've got much criticism with admins policy of changes, some changes and sometimes behaviour.
but technical support is INCREDIBLY good. the communities involvement in the future course of neveron is also outstandingly good and last but not least neveron is stably running while it is continously changed.
Nev get's as much changes and improvements in one month WoW gets in year.
now compare the price you got to pay. WoW incredibly expensive, milking thei addicted gamers. Neveron free, addicting some gamers so much they donate incredible sums.

ahhhhhhhh i play wow and ive already had 1gig of new stuff added in 2 weeks? i have had not one problem with the server or getting on the game, admins are on 24hrs and the gen people pretty decent. my post was not to make nev look bad but with all the changes and no time to conform to them people will move on to other games? i think someone suggested a while ago the new player base would suffer and i thiink it is. neveron takes alot of time and skill to play and stay in some people cant hack it? do i play warcrack as it is called 12hrs a day no i play about 8-10 hrs a week.

Well, if one of the admins wrote the code which introduced/caused the new feature/bug it should be up to one of the admins to find and fix the buggy code. Don't you agree?
If you keep on coding/adding even more "ultra complex game mechanics" to an already way too complex game (at least IMVHO) you shouldn't be too surprised if you might end up debugging ultra complex code containing ultra complex bugs hiding in an ultra complex environment.
Conclusion, you better think about keeping things simple, because simple code and simple game mechanics tend to be easier to change, debug, expand and maintain. Plus simple code should run faster than highly complex code.
Another added bonus, simple rules and simple game mechanics are much easier to memorize and or understand if you're trying to understand the rules and or the game as a whole.

If Nev is running so well, then why are there so many open bug tickets?

Yeah, indeed, pretty much the same results.
Neveron, kind of one of the most expensive 'free' games you've ever played, because it tends to soak up way too much time and money for a 'free' game, particularly at higher empire levels ...

i don't think neveron is complex enough. and especially it is not non linear enough yet. however it is considerably better than most other games.
Live's not simple. You live it without knowing all the rules. You find out the most important ones yourself.
I don't want another simple game, as i'm not simple. Players in general aren't simple.
