identifying units with Vehicle Drop Platforms....

Am I just not looking hard enough or what?
How (other than changeing the units name bfore moding it) can I tell that any vehicle has a mod attached to it?
beware: rant below this line
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
and why for the love of god is the mod not perminant? come on, they cost more than jump troops and at least if they were lucky enough to live we could use them over and over again as needed. Now we have to move the units to the zone with the RB, then mod each one by itself, then guess at which units youve modded (see above question), and then still risk a now $5million+ unit in a hot drop that they can still be damaged from.
Why not just say it? "we here at neveron central would like to make this the most frustrating game on the planet". I know that is not true, but that is the message you are sending to all of your players, and subscribers when stuff is handled chaotically. BTW I am seriously thinking of canceling my subscription, but only after I get the half price RB so my small empire won't have to waste hours in the FFA and then not get the TP it earns.
I know this change was, once again, probably meant to balance the game, but it seems to me this "enhancement" is not fully complete. Everyone's biggest complaint is that stuff is added when it is not completely finished (fwar, quests, empire class levels, arena simulation, tp back into arenas, etc). All people want is that when the game is changed, is to please, please, please work it all out then implement the change all at once. not in bits and pieces.
I really like this game. But this is so frustrating.

Just an idea; name the batt/lance/company with droppable or so.
Would be nice for a tag here tho, but like ordinary jump troops, there is no.
1-use over infy; infy in general is less powerfull. Drop a batt of grd-2's, and you'll see.

Jump troops had the Jump in their names, so they were easy to ID.
Yeah a bat of grd2 would be fun to drop on people, I just liked to have 8 diferent screens up throwing infantry at 8 diferent targets at once for obfuscation. This can still be done but it is harder (logistically) to do this with the drop platforms as there are so many more steps, and grunt work to do the same thing that jump troopers did.

assuming it's ever coded to be able to drop more than a single vech. . . Admins are not known for finishing a feature before moving on to the next.

up to a lance would be ok, but any more and you will just get GRD-2 batts dropped all over the place which would get rather boring after a while

Tigre did you ever stop to think that maybe it isn't as easy to do it as you are making it sound? The infrastructure wasn't built with this in mind. Coding something one way makes other things difficult and impossible and vice versa.

and yet you would make sure we have to use the system before you complete it. I'm sure we wouldn't have minded putting up with infantry for a while longer while you coded in the extra drop capabilities.

So what wws. then keep INF if you can't complete the code in it's (veh drop plats) intended form.
If you do not like hearing that the players do not appreciate having it/anything completed halfway, then do not do it halfway, or if you do then give us a timeline on things that are going on.
Stuff like this is why players constantly rumor swap.
Guess what? They are usually right.
Read my signature wws.

Okey i kno that nev takes its toll but that is just self defeating. First off yes coding a web game in general is hard, and with the oodles of code piled into Nev im quite certain that a little bit of it is conflicting. But to a degree INF was a finished product and with the idea of drop platforms well with the current state of Nev this change is completly unwelecome, and until this is on par with INF the general opinion towards this update is going to sag. And as one or two ppl posted in this thread u shouldve kept INF and coded drop platforms over a period of time. However Nev itself is standing on a precipice so for the love of Nev make it so that a reasonable amount of units can be dropped perhaps a lance or company but with the ability to drop batts it would just be a little much.

a reasonable amount of units can be dropped, those units are called Mechs

For pansies like me that dont want to risk his only mech lance in a hotdrop that may go wrong, besides if anyone wanted to drop company or battalion level numbers of mechs ya they wouldnt neeeeed INF. INF really helped out with scouting as well.
