what the hell is this? -> Colossal

The Colossal class battlemechs are new and experimental. There are only four "Ares" Colossal mechs in existence, varying in primary weapons. Manned by a crew of three, Pilot, Gunner, and Engineer, these mechs top the scales at 135 tons. The variants are "Hades", "Hera", "Zeus", and "Poseidon".

are they bringing back the odd rules from like Mechwarrior for the PC/SNES where could make like a 500 ton mech? or is this some kind of tie in into the giant arach mech in Mech assault???

Also are there any core rules for four armed mechs, like the SPider, but actual arms? Been pondering a design, just not sure if its doable; would require a four armed mech though.

No. It's just an extension above assault mechs that won't get anywhere near 500 tons, or even 200 - note those mechs are "only" 135 tons. The rules don't exist in CBT.com yet, though the actual original mentions of super-sized, 3-legged mining mechs come from CBT canon and were taken up by MWDA.

None in canon.

damn, ok though, for a moment there i was worried, though it would be nice sometimes to be able to build over 100 tons but then again that would just give too much room to make missle/laser/etc boats with variousother things.

Anything that big screams "Call a fire mission on me".
And, given the size, it would most likey hit the thing because it couldn't vacate the area fast enough.

100+ Ton 'mechs would run into motive difficulties. Engines get DAMNED heavy above 400. It'd be moving slower than an urbie, and that's just embarassing.
