Mobilization costs

After reading a few noob army makeup walkthroughs and remembering favorite powerhouse vehicles from battletech, I went and bought a pair of nice shiny new Manticores. The maintenance fees weren't too bad but suddenly I'm paying 77k per for mobilization costs and all my income is going towards that.
Are mobilization fees only taken out for 30 nevdays, or are they deducted for as long as the unit is mobilized? Is there any way to see what a unit's mobilization fee will be beforehand?
Example:
Jeep maintenance/mobilization cost: $250/$2,590
Manticore maintenance/mobilization cost: $1,500/$77,352

(Costs are incurred as long as the unit is mobilized, and far as I can tell no way to see what the mobilization costs will be before you own the unit)

Well, I can see mass jeeps scaring someone off if all they have are units with weapons that require ammo. Be an interesting fight though, 50 jeeps vs a medium mech.
