Problem with New Word Battle armor

I have been looking at two of the Word armors, namely the Tengu and Nephillim, and basically I feel like both are very poor. I like the feeling of "test armor" with the Tengu, but I feel like the concept of "assault-Armor" on the Nephillim has been lost- most variants use secular armaments (like OS LRM 2) and Rocket Launchers, and the Heavy Battle Claw serves no real purpose other than to eat up tonnage.
Does anyone also get this feeling?
