Guys I dont think for a moment shadow master approves or condones what Hoppy and 1000 other players have done in the game. Even if SM outlaws Login abuse outright they cant go after Hoppy for his crimes however justified we would feel. All we can hope for is going forward something may change. Once an enforceable manner is created and terms properly created for what is and what isnt abuse. That being said lets crucify Hoppy and bring him his war he claims he wishs so very much. I dont have a 10 to dow with but Ill gladly borrow or buy one to bring to his door step. And if others need money or supplies to also go to war let me know I have resources to blow on this endevour.

im asking for something that will allow me to play and donate without the worry of someone being able to destroy everything ive done with a few key strokes, especially if they have done it to others before.
At this point, im afraid someone will do that to me (though dont have a large bunch to lose) and get away with it scott free.
As it was said, this isnt the FIRST time the person in question has done this. It also isnt the first time they have PUBLICLY admitted to it.

only got 3 people besides myself. That doesnt mean someone else wont get access to their log ins, even by accident. Been a few times the mail system sent the data to the wrong person. Or someone knew someone else that knows someone that has the pass for one of them, and didnt realize who they passed it on to. Mistakes happen.
Abusing someones empire isnt a mistake. It isnt sabotague. It is vandilism, destruction of property, and theft. Most people need to realize, this is a game, not real life. If it is, where the hell do i get a spy to send into the nuke arsenal and take out the whole dump? Where can I send the suicide bombers and take out the enemy commanders or send in tomahawk missles?
I have yet to see an option in the game for that. I havent even seen a spot in the game that you can hire a spy to find out where the bv is, much less send it somewhere else.

What happens if someone 'sabotages' DP only stuff. IE stuff bought for RL money? Is that ok Shadow?

i'm not a particular fan of it, i would't do it, but on the same hand, if people are going to allow access to their empires and not keep track of who it happens to belong to, its something that needs to be known can happen. i would even be all for a rule prohibiting it, but since there isn't, we shouldn't be surprised when it is done, and until the community helps to implement an actual rule against it, sm is in the absolute right in not doing anything about it. and even if we do create a rule against it, i would be absolutely against retroactively enforcing it.
its like nuclear weapons, i'm not a fan of them, i would rather not see them used, but at the same time, i know there are a fair amount of countries in the world with them aimed at each other.

I figure it SHOULD be kind of like peeing in the public pool.
It's 100% against the rules, but in the vast majority of cases it is completely impossible to identify who's responsible. Ok sure you could do DNA analysis but you get the point of the argument.
So, for the most part you just have to deal with the fact that most public pools are going to have some urine in them. It's not a nice thought, but it exists and you just deal with it.
However, once in a while there's that one complete douchebag who gets up on the high board and pisses in a long yellow arch down into the water below. That's the guy you go after, because he's made it obvious and detectable.
That's kind of how I see login abuse on Neveron. It should be against the rules, and when directly observed should be punishable. However, I think most of us realize that even with it being against the rules, there will still be login abuse that we can't do much about. The alternative is to use a public pool with a big sign "THIS IS A PEE FRIENDLY POOL". It's not much different, yet it's hugely different.

kind of the point here, is that players need to be more responsible with the login management
that includes a 'trusted' player giving out their login to unknown players, for WHATEVER reasons...
what that means is that know the 3 people on your trusted list might not be so trustworthy after all? cause they might be giving away their logins to other unknown players?
I relaize that running an empire from day to day is an easy task. The real need for secondary login access is in times of war.
That being said, does not mean Im about to start handing out trsuted access to a 3rd party, simply because today they also state that they are enemies with my enemy. that does not make them your friend or ally
As for any 'insecure' accidents from in game comm systems...one of the most fundemental rules of proper security is NEVER transmit data in an insecure manner. NMail should NEVER be used to relay things like logins and passwords.
I dont recall any large number of NMail specific issues like broadcasting messages to improper parties. There was one issue with NMail as Noob faction mail system was created, and when secondary logins where first created. However empire specific messages do cross over from time to time

That is exactly what happens with login abuse. after reading the exact explanations provided by Wikipedia, maybe I should have stated that login abuse is an act of Terrorism, but it doesnt change the outcome of the event.

I have NEVER stated that any of these DISHONORABLE TACTICS where ok, in fact I have stated that I personally dont use them. However, based on Neveron current rules, it is allowed. This is NOT up to 'Shadow' and his personal opinions. This is up to the Neveron Admin to look at this OBJECTIVELY...something apparently buc has lost the ability to do any longer
Im curious, which one of us witnessed that guy peeing off the diving board? Anyone? Where are the witnesses to this horrific event? They must have all been mentally scared from seeing such a thing...guess we will have to wait for their memories to return!
PS There is a sign that warns of the 'pee' in the pool...in fact there are multiple signs in Neveron
