Research, and TP usage

I'm at a point where I'm thinking I would like to push some of my research. I know that it takes years to develop an ability to craft vehicles, and years longer for Mechs... if I can hang in here until then.
I would like to be able to, some day, build vehicles, and possibly mechs - and would like to know of a research path that may lead me there (some day). I am not factioned - and while I DO know that Research Bonuses are great, I need to figure out how to join a faction (for another day).
My near-term goals, are to build towards a capability of building a Tech Center (I am mostly aware of the requirements, but not of how much dedication it REALLY takes). I still have 490 TP, and would hope to be able to build SOMETHING (VEH or mech-wise), if spending all of it. I am unaware if there's anything (other than Empire Level) that can influence the gains by using TP (IE, faction, ect).
SO, having written all that, here is my COMPLETED research:
Infantry Machine Guns Land Mines Motorized Infantry Light Buildings (25 CF) Medium Buildings (50 CF) Heavy Buildings (75 CF) Reinforced Buildings (100 CF) Vehicle Armor Advanced Computer Systems ICE Engine (25 rating) Training Techniques 1
512 Research Capacity.... And my CURRENT research (I have several 1-building facilities working slowly on a something in case I want to quickly complete them by spending TP): Wheeled Vehicles (10 ton) movement concept 0.4% Infantry SRM 0.2% Vehicle Machine Guns 0.2% Infantry Heavy Armor 5.7% Vehicle Internal Structure 4.0% Hardened Buildings (125 CF) 0.1% Dual-Use Workers 43.1% *Note - I do not know what good Dual-Use Workers will provide me; I've been working on that A LONG TIME, so I hope it could be useful... lol
I'm open to suggestions, as to which would help me most, and in the right direction. Thanks in advance!

Mattbuck's techtree is very helpful, I personally use it all the time.

Maybe tell the OP on its use. it isnt exactly obvious. I couldnt figure it out in the first minute, so it got deleted. yeah, zero patience, but if you realy want someone to use something, knowing HOW is good. All I got was a bunch of garbled .xml files.

Thank you Matt; I kinda knew I'd need a long while... though, looking over the full list, I realize *I* most likely won't have any chance at building any mechs in the next 3+ years. Were I to have known about Nev in '02ish, I would probably be somewhere near where I'd want to be, by now. All of it is quite a testament to yous guys whom have been playing all these years... so, congratz!
I suppose, I'll just keep trodding along, in a "Heroine Addict" sense (ref. Southpark)... hehe
Thanks again!

Not blind, well not as far as I know.
I clicked on your link, went download, extracted and got a bunch of .xml files. I dont really care if you think it is easy or not, good or not, dont care. if i cant figure it out in less than a minute I wont use homebrew stuff. People that dont provide instructions arent worth my time, nor is their half baked "projects".

They're quite uesful once you are of a higher level. They allow you to use factory workers who aren't making tanks or mechs to make TP. I researched higher levels of it and I can make over 100 RP worth per rl day.

MattBuck - when saving the file from URL, it saves as a .ZIP. Attempting to open from the .ZIP, will produce a number of HTML files (could be an IE-browser thing).
To view correctly, I had to re-name the Techtree.ZIP to XLSX, which allowed it to actually open into Excel. Right-click and "Save Target As" would likely have done the same thing...
And... Gunner - How!?? 100RP is huge... How much Factory space do you have? What's the trade-off comparing Factory workers to Scientists? With my strongest empire, I only complete 1 RP every 7 REAL days. (You can PM me if you wouldn't wanna say in 'public')

That is how many Treasure Points he is able to produce, I personally have no idea if that is a lot for TP production :P. Also, at a small level, building factories seems pretty wasteful. There really isn't very much you can do with factory workers at a low level.
Once you're empire gets larger, much larger, you'll see a possibility of significant speeds in research. Researching 1RP per nev day really isn't all that much once you get up there. One every seven real days isn't bad, research speed is definitely generated with Tech Complexes (you can use Mattbuck's tech tree to see exactly what you need to get those). Once you get there, you'll enjoy the speeds you see. That is until you get all the smallish projects done :P.

A tech complex is 100rp/nevyear, so about 0.35rp/nevday.

Thanks Matt - but what's the conversion of Factory production to TP? Is it effective production vs Research Centers? OR, does factory converison require resources (materiasl)? If there's somewhere else I could read up on it, point me in the direction
Thanks, though!

factories require resources. Treasure Point 350,400 workers needed with 100.000 bm 50.000 combustible 20.000 pm 10.000 rare earth elements 5.000 radio actives 2.000 neveronium. This is no research done to bring down the ores use/worker numers. This is required for 1 tp. Not sure how much is reduced for the higher techs that apply to this.
So research facilities is required. Tech centers are better for higher research items. Getting tp in the free for all can help as well.

The number of workers I think varies with your level: in my lvl9, it costs 525,600 workers per point per day.

Wow; Well, thanks Guess I've wasted 46RP researching Dual Use workers... I know that research will stay until I come back to it again, but I won't see it any time soon. At least I can switch to something else now, I guess.

You can research different levels of cross training to take less workers.
