I am loving this new era of Neveron, where things just change and no one tells you. In these past few days we've had:


ActiveX Registration, the 2 lvl7+ and the 5 empire rules removed without prior discussion

Building degradation added without prior discussion

ActiveX Registration, the 2 lvl7+ and the 5 empire rules reinstated without any notification

Mech upgrades disabled without any discussion or notification.

Training completely removed without any discussion or notification, and replaced with a system which looks like it will double maintenance costs, but no explanation so we don't know. Of course, being Randy and ShadowMaster are completely inept, they haven't removed it properly and one can still train units, you just don't have a page to find out about it.

(New) Tower range multis removed without and discussion or notification.




Now, the without any discussion part we're used to with Randy, but here's the kicker - ShadowMaster has decided to remove the updates page, and he hasn't bothered to put a replacement in. He's not even posting updates on forums.

This is completely unacceptable in any game environment. How are people meant to play when the rules shift under them without any explanation or notification, when the only way they find out something doesn't exist anymore is when they need to use it?

I'm there, mainly cause SM deleted my emps and perma-banned me from #neveron :P

Of course all that happened without prior explanation or notification.

That said, and while I support and agree with what mattbuck has said, its nice to see some of the changes like lvl 2/3 maps. I'm sure there are other good things?? Maybe not.. I dont have my main emp anymore so not sure :P

The maps don't work properly - you can't click unclaimed zones.

so long all Im out of here the latest codefest bonaza of brilliance has finaslly broken the back of this camel sorry to highjack your thread mattbuck but Im not caring enought to start my own and this does sort of tie in with what you are discussing. 11 years done and we have the same crap going on that Randy had started before he left and Shadow Master is going right along with him.

Buc`, I asked about your deletion, and no response, no reason. . .

Matt, we did have discussion (and lots of requests to get rid of tower range multis and mech upgrades, but they way it was done was half-assed, no new ones, but the old upgrades and already researched multi ranged towers are allowed to be manufactured still) on some items. the training was not really discussed other than in IRC with Randy on Friday briefly (while we were all slamming the building degredation thing.)

As Shadow has often said, lots of people don't use chat (or these days are banned), and considering updates have been removed and forums aren't being used, there is no information coming out.

I also noticed things are skilling up again.

For the sake of everyone I sure hope towers that are currently built are changed as well. This would also go for upgraded mechs.

I just dont know what to say.

He's an idiot. He promised that he would have discussion prior to any major changes. I guess we all missed that. We might have even supported the changes if they weren't just dumped on our laps.

I support the change of removing 2x/3x ranges. But there was a LOT of disscusion on forums here about what needed to be done long with this change. The players went ignored it seems.

I think the idea was good, just as always, the implementation was horrid.

now there are no 2x or 3x new tower designs, but the old designs can still be produced, and IDF is still there. . .
