People need to keep in mind a motivating reason to defend SM is they have most likely had some "special treatment". There are a few players defending SM after trying to throw him under the bus with the rest of us.
Have to ask yourself why they have changed their tune? There are getting things in return that no player should.
Anything anyone says on the forums has to be taken in this context. If they are defending SM and trying to steer the player base away from SM's lies and trechery, there is a reason for it. They are most likely being paid or compensated to do so.
SM is going to do what he wants. IT DOES NOT MATTER WHAT WE WANT OR SAY. Would ANYONE have sent in money for a server if they knew this was going to happen? There has been many a evangelist that has been taken down for the same sort of thing. Whether it is a donating or not, there are certain legal rules that must be followed. So, anyone saying it is a donation and SM can do whatever he watns is correct only to a certain point.
Rodon: Why do you not take some of that money and talk to a lawyer?

Problem with idf is the range. With towers going back to normal range, snps will rule the battlefield in all but large mech forces coming after them. They have a range of 36, can shoot over hills. The best range of a level 1 weapon is 24 i believe, the ac 2. A guass rifle is not level 1 tech, neither is the mk weapons. I do think idf can remain in the game, but need a lot of tweeking.
The one problem I have with replacing towers is the skill down program. Have more then a few units in several empires that are new, that have NOT begun to skill down without having it set to bankruptcy mode, that had decent skills in the unit they vacated with. Even the brand new ones havent skilled down yet. I looks like it would take a few real months to get them even half way to where they are now.

as i stated in another split, the damn Mod tool split the post into multiple parts.
I likely had intended a comment to Lance, but after trying to move my comments to the proper slplits, i missed something.

It wasnt me.
My guess is it was SM and cant admit it. I am sure he was trying to "overlord" the thread and messed up like everything he does with a computer.

Kato: Moderating forums to stay on topic is useful and sometimes that requires thread splitting. if there is a splinter topic hijacking the original topic, then you split it off into its own topic. As a forum owner, I would have thought you would know and understand its value.
the 'fail' here was how this particular Mod tool did the splits. I have used other forum Mod tools that did the same function differently. once i made the split, and saw it fubared what i had wanted, it was to late to reverse it. Its possible the Admin tools function as I had expected. Point is the thread was getting off topic, and i wanted to try to preserve the original intended topic

Your right I am being compinsated for my defence of SM. I am getting the thrill of playing a game I love. And at the moment SM is the only one trying to keep it alive. I dont like all the changes but that doesnt change the fundimentals that without him there is NO GAME. There are changes that need to happen since the original code is borked I get that and so should you. Remember what affects one affects all and ultimatly that means we are at worst slowed down but not defeated. There is no win condition in neveron. Use the long ball approuch and just try to have fun adapt to the changes that honestly have forced me to be more active lately then I had been in months. I wont attack SM or defame him I thank him. I thank him for asking randy to help and for trying to keep the game alive. There will be times Ill fight with SM or disagree with him but he listens and has taken council because Ive earned the right to speak with him because I dont go off like a mad dog who just bit the mail man but rather comes up with suggestions or alternatives to his thoughts. Most time I dont get what I want but heck who does and even 1 thing offered and recieved is better then never winning at all.
In surmation. Change the manner in which you handle disapointment in life or always be disapointed.

You need to be careful what you say to me too SM. I have a lot of chat logs spanning years. Also, many converstations from outside of nev chat and forums. A lot of them with you in PM as well (wink wink). Dont push me, you will regret it.

Anything you would do in game is Very inappropriate, especially as punishment for an opinion shared on a NON-NEVERON forum. This is Sarna - NOT nev.
I haven't sid much about all the whining going on here - most of the players can shove it, they whine and moan and complain nonstop (or so it seems). But this is utter crap to hear/see/read.

I dont actually think most people are trying to end the game. We actually love this game, and are terrified with the shyte we're being fed, and the changes being pushed out, and the attitude of the admin.
We love this game and want it to be good again, so we fight against anyone who seems to be ruining it (at this point, SM).

I left for invasion that is true. But I dont recall ever saying anything negitive about Neveron. I also let Invasion and I dont recall saying anything negitive about them. Though I admit I was thrilled to play invasion and thought it would be cool to join a game that was new again. I came back to nev almost a year ago. And I have enjoyed it and missed it.

Chet, of anyone in the community that would be offended at the sheer disregard and disrespect that has been heaped on the community and "veterans" in particular, I would think you would be one of the community's biggest defenders. After all, you have been here almost the longest of anyone still around, and your connection to the community - given your family history etc - is much stronger than most.
This community is important and it has been directly attacked and marginalized in the last two weeks in ways we haven't seen since 2005. Worse in some respects. That's the main issue for many of us.
Game changes come and go. Bad game changes + good admin relations = workable. Bad game changes + admin that flips you the bird = disaster. That's pretty much the past two+ weeks in a nutshell.
