Strange behaviour after battle

I seem to have lost a portion of my arena winnings. According to the arena standings, I won just under 4,000,000 in a duel. Yet, on returning home, the unit carried only 1,500,000. My current finances are low enough for me to have noticed a deposit of 7 figures, so this leaves me at a loss as to what may have happened.
Anyone have any clues/ideas?

You have to factor in splits and the creation fee.
On top of that sometimes you kill an enemy unit before it gets off a killing shot on you(that very same round) and the game counts it as a double kill. The prize gets split evenly in that case. Pretty rare though.

I know you have to factor in those things, but as far as I know, it was not any of those things.
For one, it was not a double kill, since I had to play a couple of turns after I killed my opponent before the game recognized that the fight was over.
As far as the split goes, it was 100/0
I paid 1,200,000 to enter the arena, out of 1,500,000 I gave to the unit comander.
I guess it may just have been a timeout on the money transfer, though it would have had to have been something on the server itself.
Overall, not a really big problem, but annoying nevertheless. Especially if it happens following a 100,000,000+ victory.
If anyone wants to check whether this is a bug or a random act of the internet, I have unit numbers through which the battle and its outcome may possibly be traced.

it seems like the score is resetted after a loss...at least at mine accounts!
