Maximum Tech has rules for tractors and trailers. Basically, tractors can pull up to their own weight in trailers, and their speed while doing so is reduced to that calculated based on the total weight of the tractor and trailer. Trailers are just vehilces, tracked or wheeled, without engines or cockpits, etc.

Be nice if spacecraft could use the same rules...

If you're referring to towed spacecraft, there are rules for that. Certain craft can have Towing adapaters, to tow other craft around. And of course, WarShips and JumpShips "tow" DropShips on their docking collars.

Can you tow space stations, though? I was thinking more in terms of, say, Honorverse's towed missile pods--heh, a 2.5 megaton Kraken pod.
