Neveron Seige-Chapter 1 (Edited and Revised)

Here ya all go, courteous of Optimus Prime's action packed. suspencful novel!

“I got you NOW!" exclaimed Optimus Prime as he fired off an AC/20 round out of his 65 ton WXM-1N Axman. The retreating mech, a 90 ton Kurita designed Akuma, suddenly turned and fired off a ER PPC blast right into the Axman's chest that rocked the ‘Mech on its heels. A warning light came on in the Axman's cockpit, informing Prime that his torso armor was gone and the internal structure was taking damage. Cursing at that fact, he let off all with all of his Axman’s medium lasers at the Akuma. Two hit the right torso, melting off more armor and the last one missed the mark completely. In return the Akuma pilot fired off the MRM-30 in it’s left torso, peppering the Axman’s left arm and torso, leaving many pockmarks in the Axman's armor.

"Give it up Prime, you can not hope to win." Said the uknown pilot.

Prime simply replied with a laugh over the com-net as he jump jetted his Axman behind the Akuma and came down with the blade of his mech’s namesake. Prime’s aim was true and the tritium sheathed bladed sliced right the Akuma's rear armor and into the fragile gyro system. As the gyro ground itself into a million pieces inside it’s housing, the Akuma’s legs spasmed as it sought balance through the pilot’s interface and it fell over like a puppet with its strings cut.

"Ok I give up, you win." the unknown pilot said with the sound of defeat in his voice.

"Well that makes the score what, 5 to 4?" Said Prime as he exited the simulator. Then the other pilot pulled his tall, well-built body out from the cramped interior of the simulator. He raked his hand thru his brown-black hair, shaved in the usual mechwarrior style so the neural helmet can get better contact with the scalp.

"Well that was the first time it was so close, eh Josh?" Said Prime, calling the other pilot by his real name.

"Yeah but next time I will get you Cameron." Said Stoler in a joking kind of way.

A woman standing to the side dressed in the black uniform with gold trim, the standard Starsiege dress code caught his attention. She came up and gave Cameron a noteputer. “Thanks” he said and she left with out a word. Cameron shifted through the reports until one caught his eye, it said: “Factory found in New San Diego's forest."

“Well, I better see if that new platoon is ready." Said Josh.

"Okay see ya later." Cameron said, as Josh was exited through out the door.

Later, up in the Satellite Surveillance Station around Neveron's moon...

"Give me a report on what that thing is." Ordered Captain Tom Fredrick.

"Unknown sir, it is to far away to get a positive ID,” said the Officer on Duty.

"Well can you make a guess?" Asked the Captain.

"It could be anything from a simple shipment drone to a Warship, Sir”. Answered the tech. “Our sensors are not the best and well past due for an upgrade.”

"Keep an eye on it and give me report when you can ID it. I will be in my quarter's." Said Frederic as he left the control center.

An hour later...

“SIR! Are you alright?” Said the young sergeant as he watched the Captain fall out of his command chair.

"I’m fine, give me a status report.” said the Captain as he got back into the command chair.

"Decks three, six, and nine report heavy damage. Auto-cannon turrets 3 and 4 are gone and the Com-system is down,” Said the worried sergeant.

"DAMNIT!" exclaimed the Captain in anger as he slammed his fist down on the command chair. "Continue firing on the unknown vessels"

"SIR! We got incoming anti-ship missiles!" Said another officer at the sensor display.

"Brace for Impact!" ordered the Captain. The station shook as three Killer Whale missiles impacted the Residential section.

“Sir we can’t hold ou,t we have to evacuate!” Said the Sergeant as the station shook under another barrage of Naval Class Gauss Cannons.

The Station’s power fluttered and died when the fusion plant took another hit from a withering array of Naval laser fire. Emergency combat lights came on a moment later.

"Damn it! That last hit took out our remaining life boats as well as the power station.” said the Sergeant.

"Perhaps today is a good day to die." Said the Captain. "Fire off every weapon we got, I will be damned if we don’t go down with out a fight.” said the Captain.

"Aye Captain." Every one on the Bridge said pretty much at the same time.

The crew fought bravely, but after valiantly defending the station for half an hour the Captain self-destructed the satellite to take out some of the unknown invaders as they tried to board. In a brilliant ball of light, Neveron’s first line of defense was crushed along with an enemy Dropship and several fighters. With the Station gone the space fleet began to proceeding landing Dropships on Neveron’s moon. It would only be a matter of time before the invasion of Neveron would begin.
