10% buildings destroyed

Are 10% of the buildings in a zone destroyed in an attack, or is it only when the attacker wins?

It is, I understand, 10% after a battle in a built-up zone is over - regardless of who wins. I expect that's to simulate the inevitable property damage and loss of life that occurs when fighting in an urban area, and the chaos that can occur afterwards (looting, anarchy, etc...)

Yikes, then a lvl 0 or 1 could probably make money by attacking a 1000 building zone wiht a single jump infantry.... And b/c he is so small it'd be impossible to find the annoying bugger....

Should be based on BV destroyed. If no shots are fired no damage should be done. On the other had if two battlions of assaults go at it I'd expect it to be a smoking hole in the ground. It would discourage urban fighting, which army's tend to try and avoid.

I thought the 10% destroyed was to simulate the invading army pillaging the land after they conquered the zone. I would think, therefore, that if the defender wins that no dammage happens. It explains why the attacker gets cash and/or RP for an attack. You would have to look at the wording of the update to be sure though.1

I personnally like urban wars, there is more hide holes so my mechs that excel in close quarters have a better chance of getting close. But I can understand why not a lot of people would want to fight in urban areas it is more challanging

As Kit Fox says the money comes from looting and pillaging. It's possible for buildings to be destroyed during a firefight, buildings destroyed in this manner don't become part of the loot and plunder bonus for a winning captor.
