Factories and required resources

I don't get how the system works. I had 50 Combustibles minerals. Then I go to the factory page and see that I can't make ARs of this... Okay I think and then I go and order 100 basic metals. Now I can make 460 ARs!
Is there any logic in this or something? Can anyone explain it to me?

Check the required resourses page and the break even page before you start building anything. Obviously you don't understand how the factories work or how to make a proffit with them. If all you can build are AR-F then don't bother building anything.

Making profit on it isen't important right now. I just want to figure out the system, that is why I use ARs since they are easiest to produce.
I don't quite get the 'Required Resourcs' either.

easy:
Infantry: Foot: Rifle 23 XXX 0.16 0.25 - - - -
are the required resources for an AR-F.
that is if you have 1 BM and 1 COMB resource you can produce: 4 AR-F units if you have 16 BM and 25 COMB you can produce 100 AR-F
its a s simple divide your ammount of resources available by the amount shown on requeired resources and you have the ammout of units that can be produced (take always the lowest numbr for all resources). if you start a production nev always uses full number of resources no fractions (tahts the reason for only for 4AR-f in first example).
the 23 is the number of workers needed to produce 1 AR-F per nevday. if you use less the production will take longer if you use more you will get more AR-F per nevday.

Question are the people you put as factory workers stuck there always or after the production do they become Research or Comm. If there is a shortage of workers of course. Right now I have a ton of research jobs open and factor workers not producing anything that are stuck there...any Ideas

Well an easy way is just to go to Airbag's site at www.neveron.de for all required resources.
