Just my way of saying thanks

Blue and white bunting hung from the raised platform and on the podium that stood atop. The sea of humanity cheered and pointed as the motorcade rounded the corner. Those that could not see turned their attention to the giant holovid screens scattered about the square. The white hover-limo settled to the ground in a flurry of blown snow. The cheering grew to deafening proportions as the Governor-General James “Crash” Faulkner practically leaped from the hover-limo and bounded up the short stairs to the podium before the band could even begin to play.
The Governor-General of the White Republic waved and shook his fist over his head as the band came to a resounding crescendo. He tugged his gloves on tighter as he nodded a salute to the bandleader glanced once at the blue velvet curtain hanging behind him and turned to the throng. A hush fell over the crowd as cameras clicked and whirled.
“Ladies and Gentlemen of the White Republic. It feels so appropriate that it is snowing today, gracing us with a beautiful blanket of white.” He paused as chuckle ran through the swelling mass of people. “I would like to thank you all for all of your hard work….” Crash paused as spontaneous applause and cheering broke out again. “…and to thank our faction mates in Legion, and of course, our faction leader, Tigre.” His final words were drowned out by the eruption of screams, whistles, and even a few gunshots.
After a few minutes of smiling mutely and waving at the crowd, Crash raised his hands for silence and continued. “We know how far we’ve come and how much further we all want to go. We know that we will get there together. We know, because we are Legion.” An even larger pause for cheering followed.
Crash vaguely waved his hand at the massive holovid screens. “As you know, I just came from the People’s Senate. While we never want to forget our roots as the White Republic, our Senate has passed The People’s Resolution 16801.” More cheering.
Crash turned and grasped the end of the tasseled rope hanging from the edge of the blue curtain. “Ladies and Gentlemen. In honor of our accomplishments and in honor of our faction, I give you the new symbol of our empire,” pulling on the rope, dropped the curtain, revealed a crouching mountain lion, with rivets marching up it’s gunmetal-colored side and legs, “The Iron Lion Legion!”

This is what happens when I work inside too much. Two back to back, 12 hour, midnight shifts leave me w/ waaaay too much time on my hands. This also happened because when I first started in Nev I had a complete brain-fart and couldn't think of any cool names for my empires so my first three empires ended up being the Bluewhite Republic, the Blue Republic and the White Republic. Creative, huh? Anyway, thanks to Legion and Tigre for taking me in, giving me cash and advice and helping me along. (No disrespect to my other FL's, it's just that it's too expensive now to try and change the names....)

lol, Thanks Crash. . . I still think the Iron Wolverine Legion would be better of course. ..
