Help! Need a way to change the CO of an infantry unit?

I accidentally made my emperor (currently a Lt.) the CO of an infantry company.
How can I change this?
If I disband the company, will I lose him?

Disbanding the inf unit will not cause you to lose your emperor.

You will loose the morale you gained when you comissioned the Platoon though (which wont hurt much, considering you have a morale bonus anyway as new empire, and Inf comissioning does not give THAT much). Everything else regarding the disbanding is written on the respective page.
To prevent this from happening again when you comission your next Inf, platoon, place your emperor in a vehicle (which still is dangerous though...), since when comissioning Inf., neveron always looks for the highest ranked, most skilled Inf comander.

on 2nd read, I realize you wrote "company" in your post....are you really talking about 12 platoons of Inf. grouped together into on Unit, this being called a company on neveron, or did you refer to a platoon? (was very tired last night when answering).

A related question - is there any way to get someone out of a vehicle (to move them to a new one) without scrapping it?

Nope there isn't. Vehicles on neveron are built without handles for the doors.
