A Reporter stood before a Camera, his cloths were covered in soil, and his hair was matted. He had survived his first battle...
"This is Steve Smith reporting from the site of our nations largest battle ever fought on it's own soil. It happened about sixty kilometers north of our Capital." The weary man loosened his neck tie and continued.
"Many of our viewers are aware of the controversy that Emperor David McCall sparked by disbanding Alpha Battalion, our countries only Infantry battalion. Timothy Rose, leader of the Conservative party that supported the emperor was over heard saying ' ...Infantry have been, are, and will always be a vital part of our defense...' . Today his statement was proven correct."
The camera panned over the battlefield, plumes of thick smoke stretched toward the sky in all directions. "The pirate band know as Jacks Marauders attack in force today. They were over a thousand in strength, all equipped with flamethrowers and jump packs. Sensing weakness they went for the kill. If they would have destroyed our nations capitol, dare I say, it would be the end of our nation as we know it." As the reporter spoke he became filled with confidence in his abilities. He had seen too much today, and he didn't give a damn about what his superiors thought.
" The city dispatched a light reconnaissance company of Geko Scout Tanks to intercept the invaders. Sadly all but three of the tanks were lost. While the pirates pause to reorganize a pair of mechs launch an attack. They managed to escape unscathed. This bought the Emperor enough time to assemble a company of soldiers. They were the best of the old battalion, and they fought bravely. Outnumber and disorganized they charged into the face of the pirate invaders. They were fighting to preserve their home land. The pirate invaders were slaughtered! No mercy was given to those who dare destroy us!" The reporter paused to let what he said soak in to the viewers. "Their victory came at a great cost, out of the 12 platoons at a total of 336 men, only 2 platoons at a total of 24 men survived, and now, all we can do, is watch sadly as the first company of the disbanded Alpha Battalion files into a single transport..."
I'll have to ask you guys to forgive any spelling errors. I tried my best though  . So how well do you think I did for a first timer  .
