Overview[edit]
The 112th Royal Hussar Regiment was a part of the Star League Defense Force Regular Army. It was one of the SLDF's Royal units, which consisted of troops from the Terran Hegemony using advanced equipment.
History[edit]
The Regiment received their nickname in 2641 after some black humor in the wake of a training accident that killed Joseph Cameron II. His 'Mech stepped on an improperly set Vibrabomb that blew its leg off, as Joseph attempted to eject his system failed killing him instantly.[1]
In 2763, the unit was assigned, as a part of the X Corps, First Army, to the Terran Military Region but was expecting a transfer to the Periphery in 2674.[2] With the increasing tension at this time it was subsequently transferred to District 1 of the Lyran Commonwealth Military Region by 2765.[3] The 112th suffered heavy losses in the Hegemony Campaign, and was disbanded in 2784.[3]
Much of the equipment of the disbanded 112th was inherited by ComStar, to include several PXH-1b Phoenix Hawk ‘Mechs. These would be mothballed until they were returned to active duty in the 3030s.[4]
