Unit History[edit]

Formation and The Jihad[edit]

After the merging of the Republic into the Ghost Bear Dominion, Clan Ghost Bear would by 3074 would re-organize the KungsArmé into a new Clan oriented military fighting force. Honoring the Free Rasalhague Republic's military past, the Clan retain the old KungsArmé regiments and remade into Clan Clusters, including the Third Drakøns.

Staffed by native Rasalhaguians and former KungsArmé soldiers, as part of the Clan's traditions they would have to under take series of Trials of Position to reattain their places in reformed unit. The Cluster along with other former KungsArmé regiments, would be reassigned to the newly formed Tundra Galaxy. The unit would soon be redeployed within the Dominion in order to free of Clan frontline Combat units to fight the Word of Blake in the Jihad.[1][2][3]

In April 3076, the Third fought off remants of Clan Ice Hellion forces as they raided Pinnacle other Coreward worlds in the Dominion.[4][5]

During the brief KungsArmé rebellion in November 3076, the unit would not act in resentment of the treatment of fellow soldiers of the former KungsArmé who refused demoted or returned civilian life due to failure of winning their Trials of Position. Despite the rebellion, the unit would stay loyal to the Dominion, but all the while not trusted by Clan Council.[6][7][8]

Early Dark Age[edit]

By 3085, the unit receives Clan upgrades and rotated to Draconis Combine border to safeguard from potential raids from House Kurita and their Clan Nova Cat allies.[9]

The Second Combine-Dominion War[edit]

As the build up to the conflict accrued late 3090s, Khan Kab directed that all KungsArmé would receive build up of cache weapons to build them up for the conflict. Like the rest of the Tundra, the Third received number of Mechs and other units to bring it's Cluster's number to five trinaries worth of troops. However, the unit wasn't deployed in the war.[10]

Late Dark Age[edit]

In 3138, the Third Drakøn had landed on newly abandoned Clan Wolf world of Meacham. After securing the undefended world for the Dominion, Clan Jade Falcons's Seventy-Fifth Falcon Striker Cluster would attempt take the planet from the Third. However, they would repulse the Falcons using their brand of mongol/viking style tactics utilizing Hatchet wielding mechs attacking in waves.[11]

Officers[edit]

As of 3085, the commanding officer of the Third Drakøns was Star Colonel Frank Ytreda[12]

As of 3145, the commanding officer of the Third Drakøns was Star Colonel Reidun Støle[13]

Tactics[edit]

They like other KungsArmé related units of the Dominion, 3rd Drakøns use combat vehicles to augment their abilities and take full advantage of Clan technology prefering to use range attacks with Long-Range Missiles and artillery batteries. The Cluster like it's other Drakøns unit prefer for close-quarter combat, preferring to use melee attacks.[14]
