The database of the (apocryphal) 1989 video game MechWarrior, set around the year 3025, gives a population of 1.323 billion for Arcadia and describes the environment as "tropical" (out of only three impressions of planetary environments given in the game, these being "desert", "ice", or "tropical"). The description one-liner reads "Strong in agriculture and manufacturing."

System History[edit]

Originally colonised by the Terran Alliance during the First Exodus from Terra,[4] the Arcadia system was depopulated or abandoned during the Age of War.[5][6] Arcadia was recolonised by the Lyran Commonwealth during the Reunification War.[7]

Planetary History[edit]

Early History[edit]

The world of Arcadia was re-colonised during the Star League era; originally having been colonised centuries earlier during the days of the Terran Alliance, the first colony was a casualty of the Age of War.[30]

The Jihad[edit]

Following the invasion of the Free Worlds League by the Skye and Bolan Provinces of the Lyran Alliance in what was termed Operation ÜBERSCHATTEN, Marshall Jeremy Brett took command of the local FWLM and launched a counteroffensive, under the name Operation BROKEN FIST. BROKEN FIST went beyond simply attempting to recapture worlds that the Lyrans had seized, striking into Lyran space at numerous worlds. Arcadia was one of the worlds hit and was overrun by the League forces on the 10th of September 3068.[23]
