The CDS-MHK3 "Mako" Sniper Gyrostabilizer is a special type of accessory produced by Rorynex Industries. Mounted below the barrel of a rifle and employing a variation of gyroscopic stabilizer technology, the Mako counteracts any sudden movements, involuntary or otherwise, on the part of the weapon's user. Though of little use in compensating for recoil, the system effectively keeps the barrel steady while the rifle is being aimed, improving accuracy over long ranges. The disadvantage of the system is that it takes greater physical strain to fight the Mako's efforts to stabilize any motion, making it harder to use when fighting at closer ranges.[1]
