The Guldra system was home to at least one habitable world or construct and as of 2750 was located in the Brinton Union of the Taurian Concordat.[2][3]

System Description[edit]

The Guldra system is located near the Coromodir and Tyrlon systems.[2][3]

System History[edit]

Guldra, along with Coromodir VI, Mechdur, and Itrom, was originally settled by the Free Worlds League as part of a privately funded expedition that followed in the wake of the settlement of Taurus.[4] Guldra vanished from maps during the First Succession War.[5][6][7][8][9]

Planetary History[edit]

Guldra, along with Coromodir VI, Itrom, and Mechdur, was originally settled by the Free Worlds League as part of a privately funded expedition that followed in the wake of the settlement of Taurus.[4] It eventually fell under the rule of the Taurian Concordat, though during the First Succession War, they were abandoned, and their HPG station was destroyed. Despite the Taurian withdrawal, the system was able to maintain both independence and a decent standard of living for the inhabitants.[52][1]

The southern hemisphere is home to arboreal mammals that scientists believe may be pre-sapient, as they are capable of complex learning and tool use. The continent is left untouched by human development.[1]

The most Earth-like planet in the Aurigan Reach, Guldra is an agritech center, exporting genetically modified seeds, farming equipment, fertilizer, and pesticides, as well as being home to schools of agriculture.[1][53]

Guldra was one of the charter members of the Aurigan Trade Partnership and its successor the Aurigan Coalition. Two of the seven families of the Founding Council hailed from there: House Madeira and House Decimis.[52]

In the 2950s, tensions between the noble houses of Decimis and Madeira flared up, until the other houses stepped in. As a result, House Decimis relocated to Panzyr, leaving House Madeira as the power on Guldra.[54]

Guldra also supports space colonies in orbit, at the jump points, and permanent colonies on two other planets in the system, totaling around ten thousand people.[1]

Apocryphal Content Starts

The information after this notice comes from apocryphal sources; the canonicity of such information is uncertain.
Please view the reference page for information regarding their canonicity.

In the BattleTech (Video Game) Guldra is one of the worlds within the faction known as the Aurigan Coalition.[55] It is unclear if the world recovered after the First Succession War (and was never truly depopulated), or if it was recolonized at some point.

The in-game star map describes the world as the most Earth-like planet in the Aurigan Reach, and a major food supplier for the region. Agricultural and manufacturing exports have made Guldra rich and prosperous, and the standard of living is said to be closer to the core worlds of the Inner Sphere than the norm of the Rimward Periphery. The total population is just over one billion.

Guldra is the ancestral seat of House Madeira, a member of the Founding Council of the Aurigan Coalition.[55]
