Jasmine Kalasa was an outcast Bloodnamed Clan Diamond Shark MechWarrior who fought in the Solaris Games.
History[edit]
A MechWarrior Trueborn of the Kalasa Bloodline, despite the prestige of having earned a Bloodname, by the later years of the Clan Invasion era, Jasmine Kalasa found herself cast off by her Clan. In 3059, Kalasa somehow made her way to the Inner Sphere and the Game World of Solaris VII, opting to join the then-lackluster Lion City Stables. Having fallen on hard times attributed to the rumored machinations of the Blackstar and Skye Tigers Stables, Kalasa's arrival saved the increasingly desperate Lion City from mediocrity, the sheer novelty of a Clan warrior fighting in the arenas, a Bloodnamed one at that, serving as a considerable draw-card for the stable, even if Ervin Rebelke remained its most stalwart warrior.[1]
Many of Jasmine Kalasa's fights on Solaris were played up as Inner Sphere vs Clan grudge matches.[2] Matches between Jasmine Kalasa and Blackstar Stables' Clan Smoke Jaguar warrior Garrett were also popular, with many Solaris spectators enjoying seeing Clan v Clan fights.[3]
By 3062, Jasmine Kalasa was ranked twelfth in the Solaris Top Twenty.[4] During the ill-fated Grand Tournament that year, Kalasa was one of the highly ranked favorites, with Michael Searcy considering that she might be among those he could face in the final match of the Tournament.[2] On the evening of 15 August 3062 she was scheduled to fight the lower ranked Cathay champion Sheridan Lang at Boreal Reach, unfortunately after the match between Searcy and Victor Vandergriff triggered city-wide rioting, the warriors waiting in the 'Mech Bays below the Davion arena also began attacking each other. In the brutal point-blank free-for-all that followed, Lang chose to focus on hunting down and defeating Kalasa first, but instead the more skilled Diamond Shark warrior tore his Ti Ts'ang apart and killed him, proving the match-makers odds favoring her to win their match right.[5]
Fleeing into the tunnels underneath the city after defeating Lang to try and reach Silesia,[5] Jasmine Kalasa was one of the warriors accused of fueling the Riots of 3062 that threatened to tear Solaris City apart, and became one of the first battles of the FedCom Civil War.[6]
