Jimmy "Jayhawk" Lee was a Colonel who commanded the 5th Defenders of Andurien regiment as of 3025.[2] He was still in command of the unit during the Andurien/Canopian invasion of the Capellan Confederation, and was last mentioned (as Colonel Lee) for authorizing his unit's successful raid of the Jasmine system in May 3031.[3][1]
He was a very vocal agitator for both Andurien Secession and war with the Confederation. As leader of the Andurien Hawk Party he was the first Colonel among the Defenders of Andurien to clamor for Secession. This fiery temperament shown in political speeches was also present in his command style.[1]

Apocryphal information[edit]
According to Hardware-Handbuch 3031, Jimmy "Jayhawk" Lee was involved in the unsuccessful Andurien offensive against the Capellan BattleMech factories on Betelgeuse II. Known for his choleric temper, Lee is described to have put himself at the point of the attack force after a series of setbacks, vowing to secure the factories for Andurien within the day. To this end, he ordered a frontal assault by several companies against the factories, while personally leading another strike force through the jungle to attack the factories from behind. The defending Warrior House Kamata had expected this tactic though, and had mined the factories' jungle flank. When Lee pressed the attack, his damaged BattleMaster was destroyed by the Cataphract of Commander Kalidas Aniro of Warrior House Kamata. Seeing their commander eject routed the remaining Andurien attackers.

- Jimmy "Jayhawk" Lee is mentioned as a minor character in several canonical sources, where he is listed as the regimental commander of the 5th Defenders of Andurien.
- In the expanded German edition of the Technical Readout: 3026 (German: Hardware-Handbuch 3031), he also features in the apocryphal write-up for the Cataphract, placing him with the attack on Betelgeuse. While Hardware-Handbuch 3031, too, explicitly describes Lee as the commanding officer of the 5th Defenders of Andurien, the extensive coverage of the conflict in Historical: Brush Wars does not place this particular unit on Betelgeuse throughout the conflict. Instead, the 1st Defenders of Andurien (under General Xeng Garibaldi) and later also the 3rd and 4th fought on this world according to canonical sources. However, this does not technically rule out the possibility that Colonel Lee could have been involved in the fighting at some point, separate from his regiment.
