Kagoshima is noteworthy as the birthworld of Subhash Indrahar and Takashi Kurita.[1] Kagoshima is home to the prestigious Wisdom of the Dragon military academy. [6]

Kagoshima is also the capital world of the prefecture that holds both Luthien and Pesht. During the Jihad when Luthien was attacked and Pesht was focusing on defensive matters, Kagoshima stepped into the gap to insure that the machinery of government continued to run.[1]

The planet has three continents, Sakurajima where the capital city Kuroda is located, Kyushu and Kamoike.[1]
