Kiichi Omata was a short, severe man of obvious Asian descent from the Draconis Confederation. Prior to coming to Solaris VII. There were two theories on how he got his 'Mech. One said that he'd won a Clan OmniMech during the Combine-Ghost Bear border war. The other said that that Omata had come across a machine that had been immobilized by Combine artillery. He'd murdered the helpless pilot and claimed the OmniMech for his own. Though the second one could be nasty gossip perpetrated by jealous ’Mech jocks, but having him fight in the Freak Show Entertainment and not with DeLon Stables or Silver Dragons Stables indicated something.
He was an Independent Gladiator, mostly remembered for his fight in 18 February 3064 in the Grand Melee organized by Freak Show Entertainment in their arena: Grayland Gardens. The fight was to pit twelve MechWarriors with 'Mechs between light and Assault class. Unbeknownst to the other MechWarriors, he was the thirteenth gladiator and also Michael Pitgar's favorite.
He quickly found Jürgen Mauer in his Zeus fighting with David Singh in his Grasshopper. He was tricked by David to attack Jürgen, not a problem to him, and he bested Jürgen and his Assault 'Mech as his Kodiak was a very mobile 'Mech. It is not known if he destroyed more 'Mechs during the fight, but when David found him he had nearly crushed Walter Bowman's Jenner. Set to pursuit David, he ended up ambushed by Beatriz da Rosa and her Awesome. Once he started to take real hits, he forfeit the match.[1]

He pilots a Kodiak 2. The 'Mech was painted snow white and decorated with the image of a crimson dragon tearing into a bear.[1]
