This kindraa sat out most of the Warden/Crusader debate, which allowed it to become the second most powerful kindraa in the Fire Mandrills. When the time came for the Trials for invasion corridors, however, Faraday-Tanaga fought alongside four other Kindraas. Kindraa Faraday-Tanaga often believed that Kindraa Sainze abused whatever power it had gathered and so only supported that Kindraa after careful consideration.
When Kindraa Sainze assaulted Kindraa Beyl-Grant, Faraday-Tanaga intervened. In 3067 Cassandra Faraday, the Kindraa's leader and Clan Fire Mandrill Loremaster, was working with Clan Blood Spirit warriors in an attempt to bring the Spirit's close regard for each other into the Mandrills as a whole.
Kindraa Faraday-Tanaga fielded three front line Clusters and a second line Cluster in 3059. The command Trinaries of each Cluster was actually a Supernova formation. Only the best bondsmen from other Clans and Kindraa were accepted into the Clusters. Faraday-Tanaga held only a few slots for freeborn warriors, and these were the subject of intense combat.
Kindraa Faraday-Tanaga was destroyed during the Wars of Reaving. The end of the Kindraa began with the arrival of the Black Lion-class battlecruiser Streaking Mist in the Atreus system in early 3072. The former flagship of the dead Clan Smoke Jaguar launched two DropShips containing a raiding party led by the Bandit Caste leader known as The Jaguar and then proceeded to blockade the planet, destroying several merchant vessels in the following weeks. The Jaguar's forces began by landing near Firebase Gamma, destroying the defending Sixteenth Assault Cluster.
Shortly after the Jaguar's forces had moved on from Firebase Gamma, a deadly plague began to spread across the world, one which would later be identified as primarily threatening those with the Hoskins, Tanaga and Quesnel genetic legacies. Despite the plague, the Jaguar continued to raid both Fire Mandrill and Steel Viper holdings across Atreus for several months, capturing slaves and resources before the Jaguar and the Streaking Mist departed.
A Steel Viper task force led by Star Commander Freda Ahmed arrived in the Atreus system in July 3073 and discovered that the surviving elements of both the Fire Mandrill and Steel Viper populations of Atreus were barely clinging to existence after being decimated by the plagues and subjected to raids by the Dark Caste and Clan Coyote for more than a year. When ilKhan Brett Andrews was informed of the situation on Atreus, he refused to assist the Steel Viper population for fear of spreading the plague; instead he ordered them to wait until a cure was available, and either act like Steel Vipers and take what they needed from their neighbours or die.
The next visitors to the Atreus system were Zeta Galaxy of Clan Blood Spirit, led by the Blood Spirit saKhan, who arrived more than a year after the Steel Vipers; the Blood Spirits discovered that all of the Steel Vipers were dead, and that the population of Atreus had been reduced to a few hundred thousand civilians and less than two Clusters of troops, the remains of the combat arm of Kindraa Faraday-Tanaga. SaKhan Cluff declared a Trial of Absorption for the remains of Kindraa Faraday-Tanaga, and the survivors accepted their fate willingly; Blood Spirit scientists confirmed that the plague had run its course, and the Blood Spirits cleared out the enclaves and left. Kindraa Faraday-Tanaga was no more.
The Faraday-Tanaga Kindraa tended to use tactics and movement orders that confuse their opponents.
