Objectives – Guide the scout detachment to the DropShip

Mission Description

Holloway: I can't believe Hammer Lance is gone.

Beckman: A fool's errand. We paid too high a price for this alliance with Combine forces.

Winfield: This is General Winfield to all remaining Federated Commonwealth Armed Forces. Fall back to your DropShips and evacuate the planet immediately.

Beckman: This is it, Commander. We are abandoning the planet. It won't be long before the Jade Falcons start attacking our DropShips.

Kendra: Base, this is the scout detachment. We're about five klicks out and we've got a whole lot of Clan units bearing down on us.

Beckman: Scout detachment! You've cut it too close. Our DropShips are preparing to lift off.

Kyle: What!? Don't tell me you're leaving us behind!

Beckman: If we don't leave now, our position will be overrun! You have five minutes. I will not wait any longer than that.

Holloway: Commander, the scout detachment is making their way here as fast as they are able. It's chaos out there. I'm establishing the C3 uplink. They will need our help to get out of there!

DURING MISSION

(Kendra – Caesar; Kyle – Wolfhound; David – Enforcer)

• Find another way off Winfield
• Rendezvous with Omata
• Move to the DropShip
• Defend the Combine DropShip

Century: Get those 'Mechs loaded!

Beckman: There's no time. We're leaving!

Kendra: Wait!

David: Please tell me that wasn't the last bus.

Kyle: Okay. I won't tell you. What now?

Holloway: Now we find you another way off world. We left behind some heavier 'Mechs. I'll transfer the startup codes to you.

Kendra: Lee, can you pilot a BattleMech?

David: I can handle myself…I hope.

Kendra: All right. I'll take the Caesar. You power up that Enforcer.

Kyle: What about me?

Kendra: The Wolfhound needs an experienced hand, Kyle. You're the best we have for it.

Omata: MechWarriors of the Federated Commonwealth! It seems you need a way off planet.

David: Who's the Drac?

Kendra: He's your ticket off this world.

David: And he's our new best friend because?

Omata: A small matter of honor. I believe it's called, 'paying it forward.'

David: Well, I'm sold.

Holloway: Sold or not, it's your only chance. Commander, plot a route for them to link up with Colonel Omata. We need to get them there before our own DropShip breaks orbit.

Omata: Thank you for accepting my offer. My DropShip is nearby. We may still reach it if we join forces.

Holloway: Commander, I'm linking the Colonel into your C3 network.

Omata: Ah. So this is the Commander that gave me so much trouble. It is an honor to meet you. But now we must hurry. Plot us a route to my ship!

DropShip: Tai-sa Omata. We need more time to prep for takeoff.

Omata: Stand firm with me! We must defend the ship until we can leave!

David: No argument there!

Kendra: You can count on us, Colonel.

Eric Hazen: Why is that DropShip still active!? We will not allow more Freeborn warriors to slip through our fingers.

Clanner: We are fighting as hard as we can, Star Captain. These warriors are far fiercer than the others!

Eric Hazen: They are merely desperate! Like cornered animals! Strike the surats down quickly, or I will transfer you to a solahma!

DropShip: We are ready for takeoff. Hurry aboard!

Omata: I owe you my life twice now, Commander. I will accompany you to wherever you go next, to keep our truce alive!

CINEMATIC

Kendra: Oh no you don't. Command says we're losing our window. Let's wrap it up, people.

David: Just putting on the final touches.

Kyle: Now that is how it's done.

Omata: Your support was appreciated. Arigato.

David: Yeah, well, you are offering a ride off this rock.

Omata: Hai! Let us be off.

Kyle: Does command really believe we can trust the Dracs? What if they change their mind?

Kendra: They shoot us in the head and dump our bodies out into space once we break orbit.

David: You just had to ask.

Clanner Commander: You have a great deal to answer against Star Captain. You have failed to destroy your enemies and caused the death of many valuable warriors, while failing to take your objective. This is what Clan Jade Falcon expects from a Trueborn?

Eric Hazen: Neg. I will show you what the Clans expect. What I expect. I will not fail again!
