New Cleveland

New Cleveland
System Information
X:Y Coordinates[e]

New Cleveland was located in Federated Suns space as of 3025, and was mentioned alongside Vincent and Emerson as one of the transit worlds between New Avalon and Stein's Folly.[1]

There is no additional information, though context suggests New Cleveland to be the name of a star system, and not a planet in a system with a different name. (See also Notes below.)

Notes[edit]

  • New Cleveland is one of several worlds (the others being Dragon's Field, Hamlin, Ral and Vincent) that appear in only one single source, the novel The Sword and the Dagger. As such, their existence is canon but their exact location and even nature is unclear. Unlike the other named systems, New Cleveland is mentioned only once and no additional information can be gleaned. Since none of these systems appear on contemporary maps it could be speculated that they are all military transit systems. (The Federated Suns–and indeed all Successor States–have been known to make use of secret transit systems in their space, uninhabited or sparsely inhabited systems used as recharging stopovers for their militaries.
  • In the novel's German edition, New Cleveland was translated as/exchanged for Talcott.
