The Nobel system was home to at least one habitable world or construct and as of 2750 was located in the Canopus District of the Magistracy of Canopus.[1][2]

System Description[edit]

The Nobel system is located near the Krimari and Megarez systems.[1][2]

System History[edit]

The Nobel system was colonized at some point during or shortly before the Age of War.[1] Nobel vanished from maps during the Third Succession War, indicating that the system had been abandoned, depopulated, or rendered too insignificant to merit further recording by Inner Sphere nations.[3][4][5][6]

Reunification War[edit]

Nobel was a member of the Magistracy of Canopus when a Star League Defense Force task force under the command of Captain-General Marion Marik was assigned to conquer the Magistracy of Canopus in 2577. Nobel was targeted by the SLDF in 2583 with an ad hoc division consisting of the Fifty-seventh Brigade, Sixty-first Royal Brigade, and Sixty-second Royal Brigade from VII Corps assigned to conquering Nobel.[8][39]

Nobel was a center for industry and light mining operations, but didn't merit a MAF garrison and was conquered in short order by the SLDF task force, part of a lightning campaign that saw four worlds conquered in two months, completing the encirclement of Canopus. Nobel would be occupied by the SLDF for the remainder of the war; once the Reunification War ended, a number of Magistracy worlds were annexed by the Free Worlds League, but Nobel remained a part of the Magistracy.[8][9]
