Based on the world of Fallon II, Olympus Construction Vehicles began producing military equipment with the introduction of the Prometheus, a combat support bridgelayer designed to meet a requirement from the Armed Forces of the Federated Suns for vehicles that could help assist conventional military vehicles to easily bypass terrain such as destroyed bridges and steep craters and mitigate against the advantage BattleMech units enjoyed when navigating such terrain.[1]
The first bids from Olympus went into the AFFS in 2471 and was soon followed by a production contract. Olympus would continue to produce the Prometheus for the AFFS up until their main production plant was destroyed in the First Succession War by Draconis Combine forces. Despite the loss of the Prometheus plant, the company as a whole survived, and with the Federated Suns military drawing on more vehicles and capabilities as a part of the rebuilding following the FedCom Civil War Olympus began producing a number of their old designs once more, including the venerable Prometheus.[1]
