Otto Karosas was the son of Simon Karosas. Like the rest of his family, he had remained loyal to House Arano after Santiago Espinosa usurped her and formed the Aurigan Directorate. During the Directorate's rule, he was imprisoned in the Icebox, a prison camp in Weldry, where the mistreatment broke his mind and his body. After the Icebox was liberated by the Arano Restoration's forces, his father took care of him, hoping he could recover someday. When Kamea told Simon about Artru and Castle Nautilus, Otto, having been brainwashed by the Directorate, ended up revealing the Outpost Castle's location to the Directorate, who shared the information with the Taurian Concordat, who deployed the DropShip Iberia in an attempt to kill Kamea and her allies. When Samuel Ostergaard and his forces sieged Smithon V, he freed Victoria Espinosa from her cell with Otto's help. Having outlived his usefulness to the Directorate, he was killed with Samuel's pistol.
Canonicity[edit]
Originally featured in the apocryphal computer game BattleTech video game, House Karosas and its destruction were mentioned in the House Arano book, making him canon.[1]
