The system named The Rack was home to at least one habitable world or construct and as of 3151 was located in the bandit kingdom known as the Rim Territories.[1]

System Description[edit]

The system named The Rack is located near the Luanda and Pain systems.[2][3]

System History[edit]

Originally named Port Vail, The Rack was either colonized by the Rim Worlds Republic during or shortly before the Age of War, or was an already-inhabited system that was incorporated into the Republic's Finmark Province during this period and which was considered significant enough to have its location recorded by Inner Sphere nations.[4][5][6]

Port Vail was conquered by the Lyran Commonwealth during the Republic-Commonwealth War and vanished from maps during the Second Succession War, indicating that the system had been abandoned, depopulated, or simply rendered too insignificant to merit further recording.[7][8] Port Vail reappeared on maps as an independent system during the Clan Invasion era, with a new name - The Rack.[9][10][11]
