Sabine Steiner, daughter of Quartermaster General Lisa Steiner II

History[edit]

Sabine served as an aide to Peter Riskind in the 24th Lyran Guards at the outbreak of the FedCom Civil War. An extremely talented tactician and strategist, Sabine was often compared to her great-aunt Katrina. Her presence visibly improved unit performance, as was demonstrated when she left the Twenty-fourth Lyran Guards for most of 3061 for maternity leave.[2]

Sabine was promoted to command the Guards upon Riskind's resignation from the post.[3]

In 3067, Blakist bombardment of Tharkad shattered the First Royal Guards. It fell to Sabine's Twenty-fourth Lyran Guards to form the core of Peter Steiner-Davion's resistance to the occupation. As Peter refused to disband the Royal Guards for morale purposes, the Twenty-fourth were constantly feeding new members to it. By the time relief came in 3072, Sabine's unit was less than two combined-arms companies in strength [4]

With no unit to command, Sabine became chief aide to General of the Armies Adam Steiner and represented the LAAF at the allied summit on Arc-Royal. She was among the victims of the Donner Bombing[5][1]
