In the early 3130s, Sonja Bruneau was a relative upstart on Solaris VII just starting to make a name for herself. She worked more through personality than piloting skill, driven by grim determination.
Even so, Bruneau pleased the crowds when she could, exhibiting an exceptional skill at striking fast-appearing targets of the arena. Though lacking MechBunnies of her own, Bruneau patiently reassured herself that every dog has his day. And as soon as she sends those dogs to the pound, she'll have her own.[2]
Unknown to most except few select bookies, Bruneau had been betting heavily on herself, hoping that she could leverage her growing popularity to reach greater fortune.[3][4]
In the 23 January 3136 she helped Jeff Henderson, a youngster trying to fight his first match, lending him a Cooling Vest and some time from her technician.[1]
