Company vs. Planet[edit]

We should set something up to distinguish these two. What's the formal name for Homer, the company? ClanWolverine101 19:38, 6 May 2010 (UTC)

Looks like we have ourselves a scavenger hunt. Only way figure name of the company is likely going to be us backtracking to through TROs which BattleMechs/Vehicles use these particular Armor plating. -- Wrangler 19:46, 6 May 2010 (UTC)
Oh, agreed. But the article doesn't use references.... so indeed : Scavenger hunt. ClanWolverine101 19:55, 6 May 2010 (UTC)
Well, not diving too deeply so far, Grim Reaper uses StarGuard 3056 Ferro-Fibrous type armor. Thats manfactured in Germany on Terra. The company producing the Reaper is Blankenburg Technologies, it could be them. Thats from 3055. Objective Raids isn't much help, it has StarGuard FF armor, being made on New Avalon, but not specific its actual name.-- Wrangler 23:01, 6 May 2010 (UTC)
More I look, i'm convince Homer is incorrect name. I don't understand why the original author wrote it. StarGuard is used by all factions, but this particular one the article cites is only used by Grim Reaper. Why I don't know, but I'm mostly convinced Blankenburg is ones who licences it to make the Reaper. No one else uses it, StarGuard not a solidly named company itself, just brand everyone uses. -- Wrangler 23:16, 6 May 2010 (UTC)
This page was auto-generated when the wiki was created. If you dig a bit in the Grim Reaper entry in TRO:3055, there is this gem "...StarGuard 3056 ferro-fibrous armor, manufactured in the Homer Plant just outside the Blankenburg Factory." Obviously, whoever wrote this originally believed that this was a separate manufacturing facility. The reference to "StarGuard CASE" is likely referring to the CASE on the GR.
The phrase is just vague enough to leave doubt, but I think that the lack of additional references to "Homer" indicate that this is just a sub-facility of Blankenburg. --Scaletail 02:03, 7 May 2010 (UTC)
HA! I was right. It came up for me because I clicked a "Homer" link in an article that was referring to the Clan homeworld planet, only to be directed to this stub article for the company. While Scaletail is correct that the wording is a bit vague, I personally consider all this to be conclusive. ClanWolverine101 16:22, 7 May 2010 (UTC)
I agree, i should looked at it more closely. So what is to be done with the article? -- Wrangler 18:51, 7 May 2010 (UTC)
At the very least it needs to become a disambiguation page. I'm all for just replacing the content here with an article on the planet. --Scaletail 22:52, 7 May 2010 (UTC)
I can get behind that. Doing article on Homer would be better and more apporiate for the article. Has this planet been covered at all in the source books? I'm not as boned up Clan worlds. -- Wrangler

As a continuation to the above discussion, I move that the article be deleted. If there is content relevant to other articles, move it there. ClanWolverine101 17:41, 12 April 2012 (PDT)
