Merge

Most of the content here is already at Inner Sphere military structure and is not unique to the LCAF. I propose that that information be removed and the remaining content merged into Lyran Commonwealth Armed Forces, as it is better contextualized there. --Scaletail 03:22, 4 March 2011 (UTC)

I disagree with to merge the articles with the LCAF, because every military organization used a different TO&E. My guideline was the Field Manual. I think the BAttletech developers have their reasons to put such great efforts do make every army unique. As example: The CCAF uses augemented lances. The AFFS, since the Jihad a modified combined arms structure. Another example are the larger combined arms forces: the DCMS uses Forward A.R.C, the AFFS RCTs, the FWLM Brigades. With the integration of further information of the TRO and the field reports the difference became clear. In my opinion to merge every available information into one large, less organied article is unnessary. My goal is to give every clans and house military an uique TO&E. You might consider using the Inner Sphere military structure as a baseline and only describe the faction-specific differences on these pages.--Mbear 16:48, 4 March 2011 (UTC)

Of course there are differences between Successor State forces, but there are also many similarities. I think Mbear's point about highlighting what is different is perfect; an article about the LCAF should not detail things that are common to all or most militaries. This article has a lot of that type of information (for example, four 'Mechs to a lance, three lances to a company, etc. is standard throughout the Inner Sphere). I would suggest removing it to better evaluate whether this article is needed. --Scaletail 18:37, 5 March 2011 (UTC)

Infantry

Neuling, if the descriptions of infantry type (foot, motorized, etc.) are so generic, you might want to consider putting them in a single Conventional Infantry page. Might save you some work in the long run. (Plus you can add links to the LCAF-specific infantry types to this page.)--Mbear 16:42, 4 March 2011 (UTC)

I will incoporate the information of the TRO 3085 and the single units (tnx for the thougth) to a larger text. The development of the battle armor branch through the years will also play an important role. The LAAF use many quad battle armors and the many variant are designed to bring ovwerwhelming fire power to the field.Neuling 16:52, 4 March 2011 (UTC)
