Images[edit]

I have (so far) only found rather small image files for the products, which I'm not too happy about. If anybody has a better, larger and/or higher resolution picture of any one of the individual products then please feel free to upload these instead of the current ones. (Click on the image and use the "Upload new file version" function there and update the file information accordingly - please don't simply upload another picture under another name and insert the new filename into the article!.)

Also, I was surprised that the MapPack: Lakes & Rivers has no article so far and was even omitted from the products page. Will look into that later if nobody else does it. Frabby 10:22, 19 January 2011 (UTC)

Hy Frabby, i uploade the missing images, i hope you like it, Greetings.--Doneve 12:15, 19 January 2011 (UTC)
Cool, thanks! Where did you get that picture from? It is printed in a different color. Also what you uploaded looks like the full frontside/backside package leaflet; it may be worthwile to give a product photo (leaflet with the maps in shrinkwrap) and this picture in addition to it. Will give that a try. Frabby 12:35, 19 January 2011 (UTC)
I want to uploade at first the Map Cards, the pictures are scans from the original product, when you want i uploade a shrinkwarp image, i can do this, but i need some time to do this.--Doneve 12:44, 19 January 2011 (UTC)
Great! :) Image Import Award definitely in order! Frabby 13:04, 19 January 2011 (UTC)
Thanks Frabby, sarna is growing growing and ... :).--Doneve 13:20, 19 January 2011 (UTC)

Same product, different covers?![edit]

Like I wrote, I copied the product images from the CBT.com homepage. Doneve has since uploaded front/back images of the cover wrap sheet (which are of way better quality).

Now the interesting thing is that Doneve's covers look decidedly different from those on the CBT homepage. On Map Set 4 the colors are different, Map Set 3 even has a different 'Mech on the cover. So apparently there were different editions or print runs of the map sets. What gives? Can anybody shed some light on this curious fact? I don't own any myself, unfortunately (loads and loads of maps but no cover wraps anymore). Frabby 09:37, 20 January 2011 (UTC)

new chart section[edit]

Hi, I think the article is a bit confusing. I am thinking on adding a section with a chart on all maps. Something like this:

BattleTech-Universe Map Sheets
Map Name Size System included in first published
Battledroids Map
Battledroids Standard BattleTech Battledroids Box Set 1984
BattleTech Map
BattleTech Standard BattleTech BattleTech Box Set 1985

What do you think? best regards Phasis (talk) 05:18, 23 February 2020 (EST)

Whilst I personally do not find the article that confusing I am not against trying to improve it. Maybe it would be worth making a Test Page and building up what you propose the article should look like and give people a chance to see how it would integrate with what we already have.--Dmon (talk) 05:47, 23 February 2020 (EST)

MapPack v Map Pack[edit]

Small technical issue, but one that affects copy editing. It appears that the MapPack seris of pdfs (the 2013 series) are spelled "MapPack" with no space. But it appears that the later map packs, starting with the worldwide event in 2018, are spelled "Map Pack" with a space. Some of the pages for these later map packs are inconsistent in this matter. I will work on copy editting, but this does raise an interesting question. Should `MapPacks' and `Map Packs' be divided into separate sections? --Dude RB (talk) 23:23, 20 September 2021 (EDT)

It is likely a good idea to split them in my view. The two series of products are fairly distinct. HF22 (talk) 23:28, 20 September 2021 (EDT)
