Talk:Shadowrun

Deletion request[edit]

I removed the deletion request of User:Doneve. The claim that this is a BattleTech wiki and therefore this ia an unneeded page is wrong in the face of 1) the amount of pages that link to this one, 2) other existing pages of non-Battletech pages like Combots and Star Trek. It seems to me that pages like this therefore have a reason to exist (at least as long as either a policy towards them or some kind of external redirect are set up). --Dirk Bastion 13:34, 31 January 2012 (PST)

  • Dirk Bastion is right, sorry my mistake.--Doneve 13:41, 31 January 2012 (PST)
  • Dirk, would you consider bringing the WP article for Shadowrun here? If you do, I'll set it up so WP get's the proper attribution. I'd rather have a substantial article rather than this near sub-stub. --Revanche (talk|contribs) 13:44, 31 January 2012 (PST)
All right, on it. --Dirk Bastion 14:01, 31 January 2012 (PST)
You da man. Wink.gif--Revanche (talk|contribs) 14:06, 31 January 2012 (PST)
Okay, done. Feel free to cut away at it. Since the article is already big enough, I'll go and put up a section or page for BattleRun afterwards. --Dirk Bastion 14:56, 31 January 2012 (PST)
It looks great, DB. I'm glad you left out the images, as they weren't really necessary for readers of BTW (who are somewhat familiar with the concept of the game or at least the genre of gaming).--Revanche (talk|contribs) 14:58, 31 January 2012 (PST)

What to do with this[edit]

To start, I do not support deletion. Unlike the Star Trek page (soon to be deleted), this has closer ties to the current state of affairs--even a crossover adventure. I understand why the Wikipedia page was ported over a decade ago, but as the Wiki has evolved (and the page is ten years out of date, yes?) I question if this is the best look for it. Would there be support for a more concise page that better shows the current relevance without trying to detail the whole setting?--Talvin (talk) 11:45, 13 March 2022 (EDT)

Complete Support from me. The wiki has evolved in the 10 years since this was last discussed. Where before the intent may have been to be as inclusive of all data regarding cousins of BattleTech (i.e., through FASA), nowadays we have both Wikipedia for general exploration of a subject and Sarna should focus on the more direct relations between the franchises. This specici (and non-BattleTech) article does not need to be all things to all readers. --Revanche (talk|contribs) 12:41, 13 March 2022 (EDT)
