They Were Destroyed

Storm's Metal Thunder was effectively destroyed before the onset of Operation Audacity during Marshal Bryan's call for troops to defend Melissa. As you may well remember, only two mechs made it off planet, and the rest of the unit was effectively destroyed by the Jade Falcon incursion. As is well known, Clan warriors disdain mercenaries, and as such, either kill them outright, or drive them into the bandit class on barely habitable periphery worlds.
