Usage instructions[edit]

Copy and paste the following code into the top of the article, filling the appropriate fields. This has duplicate Fields for the BattleTech Stats of three different classes of Weapons (Infantry Portable Weapons, BattleArmor Weapons, Combat Vehicle Weapons/BattleMech Weapons). Use The current template for a weapons' main page and Template:InfoBoxRPGWeapon for the Role Playing Game Sub-Pages. If a field is unknown, delete it.

Image of the Weapon
name =  
Name of the Weapon
Type =  
Whither the Weapon does damage through Mele, Ballistic Impact, eXplosive force, or Energy and whither it is a Light, Medium, Heavy, or Capital Scale Weapon.
Usage =  
Which unit types can use the weapon
Tech Base =  
Inner Sphere or Clan technology base, this is mostly eclipsed by the Technology Rating.
Year Availability =  
First Game year that the equipment or weapon was first available, for Star League Equipment, this is the ReIntroduction Date. it is Appropriate to list The Year and Three Letter Acronym of first faction to Introduce/Reintroduce the equipment from both the Clan and Inner Sphere.
Year Introduced =  
Year that the equipment or weapon was first introduced in the time line and the Faction that first introduced it.
Year Extinction =  
Year that the equipment or weapon was no longer available for production, for example, Star League Equipment being lost due to the tecnology loss associated with the fall of the Star League and the last faction to loose access to it.
Year Reintroduced =  
Year that the equipment or weapon was reintroduced in the time line and the Faction that first reintroduced it.
Tech Rating =  
Choose the Letter Code from Technology Rating that best fits the description. the intent is that the letter code will link to the appropriate Tech Rating.
Availability Rating =  
Choose the Letter Code from Availability Rating that best fits the description. the intent is that the letter code will link to the appropriate Availability Rating in the current time period. Availability Ratings for the Age of War/Star League, Succession Wars, and Clan Wars to Current Era work the Same Way.
Legality Rating =  
Choose the Letter Code from Legality Rating that best fits the description, this rating is rarely seen outside the Role Playing Game Stats but for the most part would be "Military Personnel only" or worse.
Heat =  
The number of heat points that use of the equipment or weapon generates or reduces.
Damage =  
The BattleTech Scale Damage value for the Weapon
Minimum Range =  
The Range in 30 Meter Hexes at which the weapon adds a +1 Targeting Penalty modifier for each hex under the minimum range.
Short Range =  
The Longest Range in 30 Meter Hexes that a Regular MechWarrior would get a +4 Targeting Modifier, (+0 + Skill Level Penalty).
Medium Range =  
The Longest Range in 30 Meter Hexes that a Regular MechWarrior would get a +6 Targeting Modifier, (+2 + Skill Level Penalty).
Long Range =  
The Longest Range in 30 Meter Hexes that a Regular MechWarrior would get a +8 Targeting Modifier, (+4 + Skill Level Penalty).
Extreme Range =  
The Longest Range in 30 Meter Hexes that a Regular MechWarrior would get a +12 Targeting Modifier, (+8 + Skill Level Penalty).
Tons =  
Mass in Thousand kilogram increments. Primarily useful for those units massing more than 5,000 kilograms
Mass =  
Mass in kilogram increments.
Critical Slots =  
Ammount of Physical Space measured in the number of Slots that a BattleMech, Omni-Mech, Land Air Mech, or Industrial Mech would have to devote to the weapon or piece of equipment.
Space Slots =  
Ammount of Physical Space measured in the number of Slots that a Combat Vehicle, Support Vehicle, Aerospace Fighter, or Conventional Fighter would have to devote to the weapon or piece of equipment.
Battle Armor Slots =  
Ammount of Physical Space measured in the number of Slots that an Industrial ExoSkeleton, Powered Armor, or Battle Armor would have to devote to the weapon or piece of equipment.
Infantry Crew =  
Number of men that a Foot/Jump/Motorized/Mechanized Infantry Platoon/Point would have to devote to move/fight this weapon/piece of equipment. If only one crew, state if it has the "encumbering" characteristic.
Ammo Per Ton =  
Number of Shots/Uses that the weapon/equipment has on the BattleTech Scale for each thousand kilograms of ammunition.
RPG Shots Per Reload =  
Number of Shots/Uses that the weapon/equipment has on the RPG Scale from each unit of ammunition.
RPG Shots Per Burst =  
Calculated or Published Number of Shots/Uses that the weapon/equipment consumes for each BattleTech Burst.
Bursts Per Reload =  
Number of Shots/Uses that the weapon/equipment has on the BattleTech Scale from each unit of ammo, for machine guns, this will be close to 1.
Mass Per Reload =  
Weight in kilograms of each unit of ammunition.
Cost (unloaded) =  
Cost of the Weapon alone.
Ammo Cost (per reload) = 
Cost of each unit of ammo, either in thousand kilogram tons or the smaller masses more common to infantry units.
BV (1.0) =  
Calculated or Published 1.0 Battle Value.
Ammo BV (1.0) =  
Calculated or Published 1.0 Ammunition Battle Value.
BV (2.0) =  
Calculated or Published 2.0 Battle Value.
Ammo BV (2.0) =  
Calculated or Published 2.0 Ammunition Battle Value.
