History[edit]

The Twenty-third York Regulars was originally one of the household regiments of the Duke of York, but in the twenty-seventh century the Duke of York made an attempt to secede his region from the Lyran Commonwealth. The Twenty-third and two sister regiments chose to side with the Commonwealth, and as a result when the brigade was sundered, the Twenty-third survived. Despite their loyalty to the Commonwealth, the surviving regiments of the Regulars became sink units, assigned personnel who've had the misfortune to make enemies of the wrong people. The Twenty-third, nicknamed "Pride", had become home to a conglomeration of social generals by the eve of the Amaris Civil War; while deadly in formal attire, the regiment was a disorganized mess on the battlefield.[1]

Succession Wars[edit]

The Twenty-third and the other regiments of the York Regulars survived the First Succession War, but all took heavy damage.[2]
