[edit] History & Description
The Vulcan is mainstay Aerospace Fighter of the Rim Worlds Republic, the design is Republic's most famous design. Prior to the Amaris Coup, Republic built up its conventional Armor and Aerospace forces when it knew it could not match production of BattleMechs. The fighter was produced at several factories throughout the Republic, with main one on Apollo. Stefen Amaris had secretly supplied the fighter to other Periphery powers, including Taurian Concordat. Production of the arrow shape and rudderless fighter continued until 2767 when Kerensky's force seized the republic.
After the war, many former Rims World Republic pilots took their fighters went became mercenaries.
By 3075, student project at the Greenock Flight Academy on Firgrove created a modern variant of Vulcan, which has prompt manfactures to some small manfactures to put the fighter back into production.

The fighter has pair powerful wing mounted Class 10 Republic Mk VII Autocannons with ton of ammo dedicated to each gun. Its autocannons are backed by Firefly Type III Large Laser co-axied with Medium Laser & Six-tube Short Range Missile Launcher mounted in nose. The launcher has ton of ammunitions. The fighter protected in rear by a single medium laser.

*VLC-6N Vulcan - Field Upgrade during Amaris Coup, where two wing mounted autocannons are replaced by two Gauss Rifles with 4 tons of ammunition. Reducing the fighter's heatsinks down to 12.
*VLC-8N Vulcan - Restoration Project turn Upgrade. The fighter mounts two Light Gauss Cannons in place of the VLC-5N's autocannons. Two Large Pulse Lasers, two Extend-Range Medium Lasers with one mounted forward and one aft. Six -tube Short Range Missile launcher is given Artemis enhancement. The vehicle given sixteen double-strength heatsinks, engine is upgraded to XL model. The armor protection is reduced by a ton, but Standard Armor is replaced with Ferro-Fibrous type armor.
