Wolfman (BattleTechnology BattleMech)
The Wolfman was first created by Valdis Ullman, a MechWarrior belonging to the Legion of Vega, on Bergman's Planet during the Second Battle of Ryersson in 2986. Originally piloting a Wolverine, his BattleMech was damaged in a fight with a Davion Marauder, with most of its upper body damaged or destroyed. Fortunately, a Davion Rifleman had been destroyed only a hundred meters away from his 'Mech. The Rifleman had suffered damage to its torso and legs. Ullman's personal technician, Sharis Brand thought that the two 'Mechs could be merged together, taking the intact legs and hips from Ullman's Wolverine and combining it with the torso and arms from the Rifleman.
Judging from its description, the Wolfman could arguably be described as a FrankenMech, and apparently several Wolfman-style hybrids of Wolverine and Rifleman parts existed which is not surprising given that both designs were relatively numerous throughout the Succession Wars era, and are apparently easy to combine in this fashion.
Weapons and Equipment
The Wolfman retains the Rifleman's two Imperator-A Autocannons, sustained by a single ton of ammunition, whilst moving the two Magna Mk II Medium lasers to the arms. All the other weapons of its donor machines were lost.
- The design is one ton underweight, and the entry lists 112 points of armor while using only 110 points.
- Technically, the Wolfman is built as a customized 55-ton standard 'Mech, described in-universe to be built from Rifleman parts added to a Wolverine. It does not conform to current FrankenMech construction rules (as per the Strategic Operations rulebook).
