Hey Rev - Wanted to know when the '''Superior Article Awards''' would go up. Thanks! [[User:ClanWolverine101|ClanWolverine101]] 08:11, 6 July 2010 (UTC)
== Clan Space Maps ==
Hi Rev, hope you feeling better. Been while since i spoke with you. I have question/request. I have been recently doving into my files that could help update the Clan planet data. I've noticed some of the planets have maps. Is there way to lighten up the picture little? The black circle around the partical planet, like [[Albion]] is bit dark. Sorry to bother you. -- [[User:Wrangler|Wrangler]] 17:44, 16 July 2010 (UTC)
:I definitely agree with you. And clicking on the larger image is only marginally better. Unfortunately, I have no PS skills and I'd be doubtful that image could be cleaned up by much. Without saying too much, I do believe we may be getting a new mapping source within a few months. Cross your fingers. --[[User:Revanche|Revanche]] ([[User_talk:Revanche|talk]]|[[Special:Contributions/Revanche|contribs]]) 12:45, 17 July 2010 (UTC)
==Possible Problems with Sarna==
Hi, Rev. I wanted report possible malware, but i don't want to sound like an alarmist. I left e-mail to Nicj as well, but until i started blocking it the ware was trying connect. What it is that when i was editing Sarna page. My browser was trying to connect to a weird website. This was from two differient computers. (http://contenlinks.netseer.com) Other Network computer i was using, the ones i have are old and dated so their slow. I clean out my cache as much as i can used virual scanners try get at what was reporting it. However, it wasn't until i wrote down the website used browser block sites option turn on. So I've blocked this website with my browsers. However, i'm wanted warn someone that there could possibly be something embedded in the Sarna's software reporting what were doing. {{unsigned|Wrangler|23 July 2010}}
:You're 100% certain that it was only when you were on Sarna? This didn't happen on any other websites? I understand you used a virus scanner on your computers, but maybe it's something new that they don't know to scan for? The link you provided is dead, so I can't imagine it's purpose. --[[User:Scaletail|Scaletail]] 22:56, 23 July 2010 (UTC)
::Well, It was on two seperate computers not related to each other. It only happened notice it when i was editing the wiki-page. No other place seem i was accessing it wIt looks like its reporting on what i was typing. I've successfully blocked it using my IE browser blocking site function. I work at third location i access the site is part of a network and its has mighty Network protection so its not happening there. Way to tell its doing it, is the stupid malware keep trying access the site i described above during editing of webpage. I believe i won't not noticed it if wasn't for fact i have crappy connection or i won't not have noticed it. -- [[User:Wrangler|Wrangler]] 13:50, 26 July 2010 (UTC)
== Attack of the 'Bots? Related to above ==

I see about 20 "new users" that suddenly have their talk page with the standard "Welcome" from Rev. No histories besides Rev's banner. They look like Bot programs to me. This may be related to the issue above. Thoughts? [[User:ClanWolverine101|ClanWolverine101]] 02:25, 26 July 2010 (UTC)
:Did you check their contributions?
:When I'm active on a daily basis, I try and welcome new IPs. But, when I'm gone for a while, I go back and hit the ones that got missed by everyone, just in case someone new comes back and likes to see they've been acknowledged. So, yeah, it was me that posted those and they had all made contributions within the last 25 days or so.
:As for the above problem, I'm not at all convinced it is not redirection software that beat Wrangler's anti-virus efforts. So far, he's the only person that reported those incidents. I think Scaletail's response pretty much summed it up. --[[User:Revanche|Revanche]] ([[User_talk:Revanche|talk]]|[[Special:Contributions/Revanche|contribs]]) 11:42, 26 July 2010 (UTC)
:::Well, when I checked, it looked like none of them had any contributions. Maybe I looked in the wrong place? It looked weird, about 20 accounts in a row, all just IPs, all with your "Welcome" update. If its no big deal, then no matter. [[User:ClanWolverine101|ClanWolverine101]] 19:11, 26 July 2010 (UTC)
::I don't think the bots have anything to do what my problem was. I hope was just my broweser. I just thought strange, i did extensive viral scans before it came up. My computer connections are crap at two locations, so i noticed something uploading while i was editing wiki-pages on sarna. I don't think anyone would noticed, but a quick loading while editing. -- [[User:Wrangler|Wrangler]] 13:50, 26 July 2010 (UTC)
==Thomas Hogarth article deletion==
Hi Rev, I need to voice my opinion here: I feel uncomfortable about how you deleted the article and placed a veiled vandalism accusation on the IP's talk page. I saw the article and noted it down for further reference as it needed a rework; I definitely agree that it wasn't up to BTW standards. But instead of vandalism I felt the article had a tongue-in-cheek attitude and should have been moved (to a normal spelling) and edited to comply with our established format. Deleting it, I feel, was over the top. We've really seen worse articles here from contributors who went on to become valuable members of the BTW community. Oh, and we certainly ''do'' need an article about Thomas Hogarth here, seeing how he evolved into a fan meme - he's definitely important to the present-day BT community. [[User:Frabby|Frabby]] 12:35, 2 August 2010 (UTC)
:Frabby - for my own 2 cents - I can see it either way. It was obviously no minor cleanup job. Literally, you'd have to rewrite the entire thing. I'm all for properly encouraging new editors, but under those circumstances, I question the value of leaving it up. [[User:ClanWolverine101|ClanWolverine101]] 13:46, 2 August 2010 (UTC)

:Frabby, I didn't see any attempt to add value. The article clearly (to me) was not intended to be informative. The writer did show writing skill, so it seemed like an advance form of graffiti. I acknowledge I came close to going overboard and writing a little rant, but I reined myself in and went with a template. I didn't think it was worthy of a lvl 1 (i.e., a first timer's wiki test masquerading as vandalism), but didn't think it needed the both barrels of a level 3 warning.
:As for deleting it, I would not want it to be repeated with other articles we are 'missing' on notable subjects, and was concerned that keeping it just suggested acceptance of such attempts at editorial humor. I also felt the cleanup tag, especially in light of no description of what needed cleaning, only suggested it was not up to the formatting, referencing and similar other issues other so-tagged articles have. It needed to be cleaned up immediately, if it were to be kept or at the least have a step-by-step description of what needed to be fixed and added. As there was no <nowiki>{{inuse}}</nowiki> tag placed, I felt it was abandoned by all, would serve as a signpost towards the wrong direction and I knew I could not take the time to write an article of any value to replace it myself.
:I respectfully think we may just have to agree to disagree, Frabby. However, I will consider bringing your attention to such similar...acts in the future, to allow you to address the problem. Good cop, bad cop. ;-) --[[User:Revanche|Revanche]] ([[User_talk:Revanche|talk]]|[[Special:Contributions/Revanche|contribs]]) 03:22, 4 August 2010 (UTC)

::Yeah, I can see where you were coming from. Mind you, it felt like an overreaction at first glance and that was the gut feeling I went by because I feared it would leave a bad impression of BTW for a first-time editor. In the end, shame on BTW for not having an article on TH earlier, before someone went and created one.
::Incidentially, it seems the fist "draft" of the article was a simple copy & paste of the first answer/second post in [http://www.classicbattletech.com/forums/index.php?topic=70456.0 this tread] of the CBT forum. [[User:Frabby|Frabby]] 20:40, 4 August 2010 (UTC)
:::: I don't see why it should be dropped. --[[User:Scaletail|Scaletail]] 01:28, 5 August 2010 (UTC)
:::: Agree. The link to the original article will demonstrate how the article has changed from the original and, frankly, forked from the equivalent WP article. Its just a way of covering our bases, to show we aren't re-creating and depending whole-cloth on articles from other sources, but using them only from which to develop ourselves. --[[User:Revanche|Revanche]] ([[User_talk:Revanche|talk]]|[[Special:Contributions/Revanche|contribs]]) 13:46, 5 August 2010 (UTC)
== Problems with source articles for Manufactures ==
Hello Rev, i've got this article [[Aerospace Plant CM-T72673]], which basicly is basing its existing on fluff i can't find. TRO: 3055 Update & Revised do not support that this factory even exists or that this clan produces it on this world. Doneve produced this article, but i'm not sure if he was rushing or using a differient language TRO that say something differient. I have the PDF both original and Update TROs. He citing the revised and update. The Update doesn't say the aircraft are remotely related to Fire Mandrill, other one of fighter uses the ship. Jagatai is a old Clan Wolf fighter, which they continue to be exclusive producers of it on Eden. Other fighter is Ghost Bear fighter thats build by various folks, but Upgrade TRO does not name factory itself or where. I've run into this another clan related manufacturing plant, Doneve written. I have problems communicating with him, can you talk to him about this? -- [[User:Wrangler|Wrangler]] 15:29, 18 August 2010 (UTC)
:No way that I'm aware of. It is usually an attempt to see if the registration process is defeat-able (it is, of course) and to hide spam attempts, since the person is registered. Best idea, when you're spam patrolling, is keep an eye out for edits made by strangely-named accounts and take action then. --[[User:Revanche|Revanche]] ([[User_talk:Revanche|talk]]|[[Special:Contributions/Revanche|contribs]]) 23:49, 26 October 2010 (UTC)
I don't think it is neccessary to wipe their edits or insert deletion tags; I'd prefer if these articles would not be edited at all prior to deletion (I'm not a programming geek at all, but I think the spammed pages may be monitored for traffic and editing them probably just makes them more interesting for a spambot machine). 2nd Which is the best way to show the weapons and their equivalent in the cbt without the fear of a copy => plagarism? I will show also the different ordonance type and ammunitions for the sidesarms / normal weapons. 18:54, 14 November 2010 (UTC)
:Hey, Doneve.
:Sarna places the legality of an image upon the uploader, in the sense that you take legal responsibilities for ensuring the image is being used correctly. Per the 'copyright' you've included with each image: "The individual who uploaded this work and first used it in an article, and subsequent persons who place it into articles assert that this qualifies as fair use of the material under United States copyright law." In other words, you are claiming that you are using it correctly; this supposedly keeps Sarna from taking the legal and financial burden of improper use.
:If you're asking how we can best show the images (if there are no ready articles for them), I'd recommend creating a gallery of the images, ''with the name of each image displayed''. It appears you've assisted in plenty of those. These galleries serve as important showcases for available imagery for writers to use. --[[User:Revanche|Revanche]] ([[User_talk:Revanche|talk]]|[[Special:Contributions/Revanche|contribs]]) 19:02, 14 November 2010 (UTC)
==Non-canon [images] of Terran Hegemony==
Hi Rev, i'm trying fix a slight problem. Someone uploaded a non-canon [image] of the [http://cf.sarna.net/docs/mwda_dossiers/2750th.png Terran Hegemony Map]. There no label stating it is fan-made and not a product of canon source. Does anyone know what [we're] [supposed] to do about this? I've not [dealt] with a direct png image before. Usually these things have page that gives direction of the [image]. Someone thought the [image] uploaded was canon. Someone found it while trying make point about Hegemony, i think i've seen this [image] before in a non-canon FanMade PDF. -- [[User:Wrangler|Wrangler]] 02:37, 17 November 2010 (UTC)
:Hey, Wrangler.
:This request looks similar to one that was posted on the Admin Request page, but was placed in the 'completed' section. The 'completed' sboutnd similar problems. You'll probably want to move it up or 'close' out the problem with what I write about here.
:As for your problem: in the [[Help:Template gallery|Template gallery]] you'll find a tag for non-canon products. This can be slapped onto the page for that image file. That same page will also tell you what articles make use of the picture. Remove the link to the image on each of the articles, and we'll be good to go; eventually, when the image files are reviewed for unused links, an Admin will delete it as unused (unless someone then uses it in a fanon article).
::Hi Rev, I apologize for the sloppiness. The problem is not complete. I've moved this directly correct section. The *.png [image] from what i've seen of it can not be "tagged". Its a pure [image]. :::It's all right. Sometimes I have to fix the missing or incorrect statements in your writings so I can understand the problem (or intended statement). I often read and re-read both my works and others, to make sure I understand the intent.
:::As for your response, the proper course of action would appear to remove the link from any articles it appears. ==Minor Blakist Commanders==
Hi Rev, how come your making articles for characters who have almost no background on them? Would it not be more ecomical to have a list of them in a single article page with their names list in row with what didbit of information on them listed besided them like how we have [[List of minor mercenary units]]? -- [[User:Wrangler|Wrangler]] 20:14, 19 November 2010 (UTC)
:I have never subscribed to the list idea, though I understand the arguments for it. I just believe there should be one standard for all similar subjects to reduce the opportunity for error or duplicated efforts. That is a primary reason we don't have a policy requiring one over the other. Also, the reason I did so in these cases is because they are a part of [[BattleTechWiki:Project Unfinished Book|Project Unfinished Book]] and since that is a page-by-page research project (vice a comprehensive subject search), there is no telling if or what new info will come available as I progress thru ''[[Jihad Turning Points: Luthien]]''. This allows UBP researchers to work off of one shared article.--[[User:Revanche|Revanche]] ([[User_talk:Revanche|talk]]|[[Special:Contributions/Revanche|contribs]]) 23:13, 19 November 2010 (UTC)
==Use of Fan-made images==
Hi, Rev. I had question regarding the issue with Neuling about his images posted. Some of them i believe he produced (example File:Operation rat.png), but he did not originally add imagine summary. He has this particular imagine in the [[Fourth Succession War]] article. Should the fan-made imagine be used? I've slap a fanom template on it so people know this is fan-made. However, question remains should it be used in canon article. In past, i've worked with Neuling colorize a canon pictures show border differiences. I've noted those pictures were modified. However, with recent events i'm wondering where this fall under the policy. I am torn, since i'm not sure the fanom template would be properate for modified canon images. Their useful show stuff that wasn't highlighted by original company, but i'm not sure what should be done about it. ==Question==
Hello Rev, i Hope you New Years was good to you. I had question regarding Mechs that are partially under the moratorium. I recently added the [[Peacekeeper]] to the Sarna. TRO 3085 is not longer under the moratorium, but its record sheet unabridge pdf is. Is the bibliography not allow to show upcoming and connected materials in a article? I did not (not come out yet.) added anything from that source, only listing as a part of bilo. Does this mean it must be on hold until all the related materials comes out of the mortatorium? -- [[User:Wrangler|Wrangler]] 23:13, 4 January 2011 (UTC)

Hi Rev, i jump in, i put the talk from Wrangler to Me in the discussion, to give you howe is the goal for it.--[[User:Doneve|Doneve]] 23:27, 4 January 2011 (UTC)

Hi Doneve. I am confused why you removed the RS:3085 Cutting the Edge wikilink from article. There was no information in the article violate the moratorium period. I don't believe mentioning the Record Sheet book would break moratorium if listed in the bibliography. --[[User:Wrangler|Wrangler]]
: I think, we don't put publications as biblio link, there have not the moratorium expired, some people where confused about this, it is my mention, but it is a good goal to start a discussion about this, thanks.--[[User:Doneve|Doneve]]

Hy Rev, i think we don't put linked sources to an article there can have no content from the source, then the source falls under the moratorium, [NO CONTENT] no link in the bibliography section, thanks.--[[User:Doneve|Doneve]] 23:50, 4 January 2011 (UTC)

::Hi, guys. My interpretation of the moratorium policy reflects on the intent: do not give information from within the document under protection. However, letting readers know there is information relevant to their interests can /only/ be a good thing, especially if Sarna is not yet providing them that information. (In other words, leads them to purchase the document.)
::So, from my perspective, the mention of the protected document in the biblio -while not truly indicative of the use of that document ''yet'' in the article- would not seem to violate the policy. It serves to inform the reader of another source of information.
::However, I would say the use of the '''Update needed''' template would serve both purposes best, as it quickly informs a reader a new source of information is out and is not included in the article AND reminds the Editors that the article needs to be updated, when the time comes.
::Does that help?--[[User:Revanche|Revanche]] <sup>([[User_talk:Revanche|talk]]|[[Special:Contributions/Revanche|contribs]])</sup> 12:43, 5 January 2011 (UTC)
==Article Tag Question==
Hello, Rev.

I've never contributed to BattleTech Wiki before but I was wondering about perhaps doing so. I've actually had about a dozen BattleTech articles published over the years in magazines like BattleTechnology and MechForce Quarterly. I am also the original creator for the non-jump capable WarShips called Monitors.

What I am interested in doing is submitting a wiki for a mercenary unit that I created and was featured in several of the articles published in Battletechnology and MechForce Quarterly. The unit is called TekTeam Technical Services and is essentially a unit of mercenary technicians that sell their services to the highest bidder, travels in a modified Mule class DropShip set up as a mobile repair base and is supported by a small security force.

Would it be have to be published in the non-canon units section, or because it was published in the 'official' magazines for BattleTech at that time, would you consider the unit at least quasi-'canon'?

I would probably need some assistance in figuring out how to use your templates for an article on TekTeam Technical Services as well. Thanks.--{{Unsigned|71.74.86.252|18:01, 4 January 2011}}

:Good morning, 71.74.86.252.
:First off, welcome to Sarna. We also welcome your presence as a contributor. You might find registering will also help you interact more easily with other contributors here.
:I would point you in the direction of the [[Canon]] article, first off, specifically the Apocrypha section. ''Battletechnology'' is directly addressed there and should answer your question. From that, I would say the use of the '''ApocryphalArticle''' is most appropriate. As for what category the team would fall under, some discussion of that may need to be had or [[User:Frabby|Frabby]], our expert on all things canonical (and himself a published CBT writer), can provide some guidance.
:I hope this helps.--[[User:Revanche|Revanche]] ([[User_talk:Revanche|talk]]|[[Special:Contributions/Revanche|contribs]])
:::Hello 71.74.86.252, and welcome to the fold of BTW editors. It's very exciting to have the people helping out here who wrote the old stuff, even if [[BattleTechnology]] isn't canonical anymore (for the time being...). It would be great if you'd register an account on this wiki and work from that login, as it will allow you to have both a proper talk page yourself and link your edits to your account, crediting you with the work you do here. Everything's free of course.
:::Revanche got the long and short of it right - your contributions to BattleTechnology and [[MechForce Quarterly]] aren't Canon anymore, but they were once published in an official BT source and were regarded as canonical in their time, raising them above mere fanwork. As such, they are now considered apocryphal; in Herb's words, while they're non-canon, the writers are "not in total denial" about them either.
:::Seeing how you already are a published BT writer, you may want to try your luck with [[BattleCorps]] which could be described as today's online lovechild of MechForce and BattleTechnology. As a subscriber you may submit stories and that may be a way for you to re-introduce your merc unit into full canon even. Contact me if you are seriously considering writing for BT again and I'll explain a bit more.
:::Finally, since you were published in BattleTechnology, your name should be among the list of contributors in that article (as a redlink if no actual article exists about you yet). Feel free to (actually, ''please do'') fill in all details about yourself that you're willing to share!
:::Cheers, [[User:Frabby|Frabby]] 13:57, 5 January 2011 (UTC)
I have been a fan of the Mechwarrior games and Battletech universe as long as I can remember. It all started when I picked up a copy of Mechwarrior 2: Mercenaries. That game got me hooked on Battletech for life. I have read all the books and played all the games (Mechwarrior 4 and it's expansions, Black Knight and Mechwarrior 4: Mercearies are my three favorites). I also love me some Clan Wolf (in exile), which helps explain my username. This has been a Wiki I frequently visit for a year now, and I decided to join and see how I can help.
Hello everybody, Great to find people who love BattleTech as much as I do. I've played on and off since 88. Had to pause a few times, grown-up stuff, LOL. I've got many tech readouts and novels. I noticed that the stats for the LAMS are in the Mech lists but, no pics. I have the pics from a first copy 3025 tech readout for the LAMS. Is it ok to post them or is there a copyright issue still and that's why their not there? Also, just got my hands on a 2750 readout with the stats on the types of naval weapons used in BattleTech. Will edit them to the wiki ASAP. If I can be a help with questions on tech issues please ask. If I have it I will do my best to get the info out. Thanks again to all. Greetings! I think this is great work, and I thought with my interests in BattleTech being pretty broad I might add some content. All of the things I have added are well referenced, and hopefully read easily... I started playing in the early 90's, and have kept up with most of the BattleTech timeline with various supplements. Within the last several months, my interests have turned towards the deep periphery and Clan space as I am working on a deep periphery MechWarrior campaign. Beyond periphery realms, I am interested in BattleTech history (but not so much on major characters, playing with them is too detrimental to the continuity...), and I am hoping for a TRO on the early Clans (why always play games in the present, no?). Cheers. [[User:S.gage|S.gage]] 23:04, 7 April 2009 (PDT)
Hi there. I used to play BattleTech back in the 80s because I was interested in Robotech the game had LAMs. I played and read until the end of the first Clan scenarios when ComStar beat them at the Tukayyid. Left because there was not enough support for the roleplaying. Drifting back now, I had heard the game had an improved roleplaying part and a combined arms thing called Strategic Operations coming out. My interests, and I hope, contributions, are on the strategic and historical level. Astrographic data like jump routes, survey and census data, history, timelines, biographies. Comes from my evil Traveller interests, I suppose. That is what I would like to add. [[User:Nathan Brazil|Nathan Brazil]] 11:42, 11 March 2009 (PDT)
In 1990 a few friends were trying to talk me into trying this game they were playing called BattleTech. I resisted. Beating up giant robots sounded just too cool, and I knew I would end up buying every product in sight. I was right. I ended up buying almost every sourcebook available. My roommates and I played BattleTech every Monday night for three years. I offered to GM if it meant we'd only play BT. In 1994, I had one of the first BT pages on the net. (I think Nic even linked to me). I got out of the game after college, though. Now I'm teaching my 10 year old son to play and starting to write BT fiction again.
Back in the late 90s (I caught on late to Battletech), I got a copy of one of Robert Thurston's Battletech novels at my local bookstore as a bit of light reading for home. However, reading the book, I soon realized that this series was incredibly well-written and well maintained, and I decided that I wanted more of it. I began collecting more and more of the novels, and eventually got myself a copy of the boardgame, as well as most of the computer games (MechCommander 2 is by far the best in my opinion). Upon finding this site, I immediately decided to try and give back some of my accrued Battletech knowledge so that anyone, whether die-hard fan or occasional Battletech player, could learn and gain more about the Battletech universe.

As a personal style, I loathe careless mistakes made while typing, especially spelling mistakes that bring down our language in tatters all around us. I know mostly the history of the Battletech universe, and I will probably stick to those sorts of articles for my editing.

As a side note, my favorite 'Mechs are by far the Blood Asp and the Marauder. The Battletech universe just would not be the same for me without those two.
Hey there, as I said on my personal page I got my Battletech start with the Star Lord novel followed by Tactics of Duty which introduced me to the Gray Death Legion. I was hooked ever since, and played Mechwarrior IV: Vengeance, Mechwarrior IV: Mercenaries, as well as MechCommander 2.

In college I met a guy who had the original hex game on his PC (I can't remember the name of the software) and tried it out. He won of course, being an even bigger BattleTech nerd than I was.

When Dark Age came out I was a bit confused. Reading the novels it seemed that the setting was reduced to battles with about four 'Mechs a side. This seems to match WizKid's miniatures game where there aren't that many 'Mechs, but I don't think I like it. Maybe they'll escalate the situation until we get back to the multi-regiment scrapfests of old like the Clan Invasion and the FedCom Civil War.

Later I discovered MechWorks and tried my hand at Mech design. Why didn't they fit PPCs on the Wasp? MechWorks spelled it out for me, and my understanding of CBT increased immensely.

When I got back to my old MechWarrior: Mercenaries game, I decided to look up BattleTech and Mechs on the Internet. Lo and behold, Google pointed me in the direction of BattleTechWiki. So here I am. [[User:Haruspex|Haruspex]] 09:04, 8 January 2008 (CST)
I play DnD and it eventually got me started on other table top game systems such as BattleTech. I will tell everyone right now that I have Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and I cannot abide by mispelled words and grammatical errors (even though I still find myself occasionally making them). My point being that I absolutely hate it when people use terms like "thier", "varaition", and, worst of all, *shudders* "teh". Please check your spelling before you finish editing an article, I don't mean to be rude about it but it drives me crazy when I see sloppy mistakes. My main goal for this wiki is that a person should almost be able to play BattleTech straight off of the wiki. Thank you for listening to my ranting. --[[User:DragonoftheRust|DragonoftheRust]] 20:51, 11 September 2007 (CDT)
:welcum 2 teh wiki rustic 1! …I was going to try to inundate you with a reply mostly of that nature, but I just can't do it. I understand where you're coming from, it's almost painful to read the horrendously misspelt and poorly worded messages people leave. (Tends to be considerably worse on medium-ly populated wikis; it's downright infrequent here.) While it can grate on your nerves, it often pays to look past such failings; whilst there are certainly some bad spellers out there, the few we have here tend to be a smart and friendly batch overall. Anyway, welcome to the wiki (sorta belated, but oh well). --[[User:Xoid|Xoid]] 10:08, 23 October 2007 (CDT)
Hi, my name's Emma, and I'm a mecha geek. I first took an interest in Battletech when Mechcommander came out, although I didn't start to get heavily into the game until Mechwarrior: Dark Age came out. I've never actually managed to play the Classic Battletech miniatures game because everyone I met who'd ever had an interest had given up and moved on to other things by the time I met them, but I've played a lot of Dark Age, Mechcommander 1 and 2 and Mechwarrior 4.

I came across this wiki whilst I was working on my "Great Project" of trying to replicate all canon battlemech designs up to TRO:3067/Phoenix in Mechwarrior 4. So far I've done all 808 IS mech variants (Apart from one-offs like Tancred Sandoval's Templar loadout) and I'm taking a break before starting on the clan mechs.

I've only been able to track down a couple of of Battletech books (TRO: Project Phoenix and Field Manual: Periphery to be precise) because it's nigh-on impossible to get Battletech stuff where I live, so I probably won't be much use on the creating of articles and things. However, I've had experience as an editor in a few small publications, so I'm very good at spotting mistakes and correcting English, so I'll probably stick to clean-up to start with. Oh, one thing I almost forgot. Not sure where the right place to ask this is, so I'll ask here. Does anyone know what the right format is in the use of 'a' or 'an' in front of an acronym? For example, would it be "A LRM 10" or "An LRM 10". The way I was taught it, you use 'a' if the next word begins with a consonant and 'an' if the next word starts with a vowel, but no-one ever taught me what to do with acronyms and saying "A LRM 10" just sounds wrong to me. Any advice would be gratefully received. [[User:Kittle|Kittle]] 20:53, 6 September 2007 (CDT)
Hello all. I neglected to do this earlier, so here goes. :) I have been involved with BTech since 1987 when I first got introduced to it and I've loved it ever since. All of my experience with the game is pre-Clan, so that's what I know and love best. The Third Succession War is where my knowledge mostly lies.

I was ''Clifford'' on BTech 3025/26 MUSE and ran that game for about 3.5 years before handing it off to someone else. I played for many, '''many''' years, but it's been a while since I last played "competitively". :) I'm working on trying to fill in the gaps on the wiki that I know about regarding the 3rd and 4th Succession Wars.

I have most of the source books from the 3026 time frame, including all of the house books, the tech readouts and the Mercenary's Handbook from that era. I'm sure there are some things that I'm lacking, but I didn't think them necessary at the time. :) My latest acquisition was a first-print House Liao book.

I've played a lot of the computer games that were put out, including all of the MechWarrior and the MechCommander games. Again - it's been a while, but this is something I'm getting back into full force. :)

Let me know if you have any questions/comments. Thanks! [[User:Bdevoe|Bdevoe]] 13:31, 1 August 2007 (CDT)
Hi peoples. Obviously I just signed up and thought I'd say G'day *waves*. I'm from Australia, like walks in the park, watching movies and blowing hell out of my friends in Mech combat. >=)
I have been interested in BattleTech/MechWarrior for a number of years having played alot of the MechWarrior series PC games (MW2+expansions, MW3+expansions, MW4+expansion, MC & MC2), read alot of the novels post-4th Succession Wars and GM'd a smallish BattleTech games as well as just starting a MechWarrior RPG with some mates.
I would like to contribute to BW in any way possible with what resources I have. I have quite a few e-books (mostly the older house field manuals) as well as most of the 1700 series FASA hard copies including all official FASA Tech Readouts from 3025 to 3060 plus a couple of the early 1600 series hard copies.
I've never helped with a Wiki before, so if I can be of any help at all, let me know.
Hello everyone, i just signed up with Battletech Wiki , but i would love to contribute as soon as possible. While i started becoming a fan of the battletech universe via the classic battletech novels(only). I started at the very end of the series, right where the fed-com civil war was closing to a halt. While i was trying to hunt down the other books on the list(much of it discontinued) i dabled with the Mechwarrior Computer games( I started with Mechwarrior 2: Mercenaries). Those combined with few other battletech-themed computer games(Mechwarrior 3, Mechwarrior 4, Mechwarrior 4: Mercenaries, MechCommander 2) are the only source of my knowledge on the classic battletech universe. While i never played the MechAssault games on the X-box that was suppose to connect CBT(Clasic Battletech) with the new novel line from Wizkids, Mechwarrior: Dark Age(MWDA), i have collected and read most of the novels by Wizkids. I am reading book no. 22 :Wolf Hunters by Kevin Killiany. Since there is very little information partaining this frame of time in the battletech universe, here in Battletech Wiki(Wikipedia has more articles, which lead me to ask, can we, should we, just link the information on wikipedia straight to battletech wiki, if so, how?). I would like to expend more on this particular timeframe, whoever is interested as i am in cataloging this particular timeframe, or just dropping by to give friendly advice can use the the talk page given to me by Battletech Wiki or just E-mail me at agus101186@yahoo.co.uk

I conclude my introduction by apologizing for my long-windedness and any error i might have unintentially made.
Hi all. I'm currently just a reader trying to glean some information for an upcoming fight. I've been into Battletech since before dirt was formed...JK! A long time though, so long I don't really remember when I started, but I do know that it wasn't long after the first of the boxed sets came out.
[[User:66.69.125.220|66.69.125.220]] 18:58, 4 July 2007 (CDT)

The fight has started. One Star of a Ghost Bear recon unit against 2 lances of a veteran mercenary company. We had to break in the middle due to time constraints, but will pick it back up soon. One mech of the Mercs is out of the fight with only minimal weapons and one leg, another is very badly damaged and is only hanging on by a thread. The star, while beat up now, with one mech operating with an engine hit, is still very much in the fight. More updates as they occur.

Curse the Stravag dice. The fight went badly for the clan. Four head hits took out two mechs, and box cars on a center torso penetration took out a third with three engine hits. The fourth went down by losing all of the center torso, but no engine explosion. The last lost both legs and all weapons. The fight lasted 10 rounds. After the sixth round, when the Star Commander determined that he was going to lose this fight, broke his bid and called in re-enforcements. Unfortunately, they did not arrive in time.

The story will continue.[[User:66.69.125.220|66.69.125.220]] 22:31, 11 August 2007 (CDT)
Hey. My name's Tom and I've been addicted to BattleTech since 1993 or so, when my older brother got the 3rd Edition boxed set for his birthday. In terms of my interests, I'm more excited about the Star League and the Succession Wars than any of the later history; the games that I've run have been set during the 3rd or 4th War. Personally, I think that the original, non-reprint Technical Readouts are some of the best BattleTech resources out there... so I guess it's fitting that my first submission was based off a TRO entry. Expect some more, next time I get bored. =)
==Frabby==
Hello everybody! Well, here's me: I started playing classic boardgame BT and reading the novels in 1992, back in a time when I had plentiful of spare time in the army (Luftwaffe actually). Not knowing anything about the game universe or the 'Mech designs I randomly affiliated with House '''Liao''' and chose the Archer as my 'Mech for the first training battles. The preferrence for House Liao stuck.

Besides boardgame 'Mech combat we did a lot of scifi roleplaying in the BT universe back then and eventually played our own merc unit (with periphery bandit background), the ''Harbingers of Doom''. They eventually merged into the Oberon Confederation if I remember correctly. Truth be told though, BT was only one of the many roleplaying/boardgame systems that I played during that time.

Around 1996 I played as Liao MechWarrior ''Frabartolo'' in a text-based online BT community. I eventually dropped out because my university uplink was too slow for the realtime combat simluator, leaving my 'Mech a sitting duck in the training exercises, and thus preventing me from ever partaking in any serious battles. My notable exploits during the time included wasting 3 Griffins in a row in ill-fated attempts to prove the design's superiority on the battlefield, faring surprisingly well piloting a Crusader (a design I don't like) and eventually getting assigned a Cataphract, but never the Archer I always asked for. Despite merely mediocre combat performance (or perhaps because this was still better than than the average Liao MechWarrior) I was promoted to Subcommander, drafted into Warrior House Imarra against my wishes and given command of a Lance that had never seen combat action by the time I had to quit the game.

I liked the early LosTech flair of the BT universe and started to lose interest in the storyline when the Clans arrived because I do not like their in-credible story and the associated tech and rules and general munchkinism :-( Accordingly, my BT interests primarily cover the time period between 3000 and 3050, and the inner workings of the BT universe at that time. Always enjoyed playing the Liao underdog.

If I were to name a favorite Clan then it would be the Ghost Bears, or perhaps the Snow Ravens.
:Amen, brother! There are more people who like the older 3rd Succession War thing than people realize, I think. I thought that even the 4th Succession War was a bit a betrayal, but I understand the need of a company to grow an enterprise. :) All of my stuff is completely played completely in pre-Clan days and actually pre-FedCom days. Old school Battletech player from the 80's. I don't play anymore but still purchase the source books (long live Amazon!) as I enjoy reading the history of the universe. I was a big fan of the Black Widow (I KNEW she was "related" to Alexander! lol) back in the day but recently have been focusing on the history of the clans. Mostly from the exodus through the golden age. I get a little bored with the Clans Return.

Seems like my enjoyment is from the early 2000's to the formation of the Star League then The Exodus to about 3000. I'd have to think about my favorite clan but probably Clan Wolf. I like that it is Nicolas Kerensky's "clan" although I have scoured every single source book for information regarding the [[Minnesota Tribe]] and the Clan that shall not be named. I've honestly never played Battletech. It's not too popular in the far north... New to Battletech, but been a fan of the universe through the Mechwarrior game for years. Happened at one LAN Party. A teacher from my school was chaperoning the party and was also a gamer. One who was getting frustrated with his game of Mechwarrior 4 Vengence. I asked if I could try. Beat out that mission and the next few after it. Had my parents get me a joystick and Mech 3 for that birthday.

I got into Battletech when a friend of mine moved over where I live from the hole he used to live in. Actually got into it not by gameplay itself buy by customizing mechs. Ended up creating the [[Mule (Custom Mech)|Mule]] and the [[Tinman II|Tinman (UM-T1)]] that night.

Ever since then I've been further and further introduced to Battletech through multiple games of it with friends. Most games through MegaMek now. Konnichiwa, as thy say in the Combine. I've been a fan of BattleTech ever since the TV series I guess. My only problem is the lack of other players in my area. I occationally checked this wiki for information about the various 'Mechs (which is slightly faster than flipping through TROs), but was kinda disappointed at the lack of a number of 'Mechs. Howdy! I've been a fan ever since high school (1991), and have played off and on ever since. While I have not been playing in near on a decade, I've actually found that Battletech (and all its data) have been great source of data for learning how to build databases, spreadsheets, generating forms, and all sorts of jobby-job skills I can translate into paycheck-earning work. Yes, I have had to "Minimize Screen" because I was importing equipment tables from Excel to Access when my boss walked in. Still though, it's a fun game to plan and strategize with, but I just haven't had a good opponent to get me back into it. Lately, I've been gathering all of my previous documentation and consolidating it into a mercenary unit's core set of rules, including TOEs, manpower documents, and maps (in AutoCad!) of my base and its facilities. Like I said, it's a great way to learn other software platforms when you're not rolling dice! Someday, if I have kids, I look forward to showing it to them too. 22 Nov 08.[[User:68.101.0.187|68.101.0.187]] 04:13, 22 November 2008 (PST)
I have been a fan and player for over 10 years. I haven't played for a while since my son left the house. While this doesn't allow me to play the game, I still keep up on it. As Tripler says above, I use battletech for programming inspiration. For my JAVA (not javascript) class, I recreated a Mercenary Contract Generator that actually prints out the contract or saves it to a file. I have also programmed a Temperature Converter in C++ (and Visual Basic) and Planetary atmosphere, miscellaneous information and temperature converter in Visual Basic. I have numerous WORD and EXCEL documents including TOE's for my mercenary command (started in 3025 and running through 3050).
Now I concentrate on planetary and system exploration. This means several things. First, I've plotted the entire Inner Sphere and Clan systems in 3d. I am looking for information about planets and systems so I can fill in the blanks. I also have a program that helps create systems. So when the book says Jerangle is 3 of 5 planets, but doesn't specify the other planets, I can create them and their moons. This makes for a more realistic system and gives more information other than x,y coordinates and system name! So working on planets is one of my big things. One other note: I probably have almost all of the rulebooks, sourcebooks, TROs, and adventures since Battletech started. So I should be able to help alot!
After browsing the articles here on BTW, I finally decided to contribute. I'm the one who did the articles on the 1st Battalion of the 1st Davion Guards RCT (from the PC game MechCommander) and a couple of related articles, since I've been a MC and BT fan for more than 10 years.
I'm part grammar cop, part researcher. I'm not likely to do any major changes to existing pages, just grammar stuff, but I might create a short page that needs to be created every now and again. I'm a pretty avid BT fan, and I hope that i can make this a more complete and correct Wiki, because that's what BT deserves
I too am a fan of the fiction created around the BattleTech universe. Michael Stackpole, Robert Thurston and Blaine Lee Pardoe are all names I like to see in print, and the stories they tell have fueled my imagination for quite some time. I've also played the game BattleTech with friends for about 20 years now (on and off), and have a love for the game and all things connected with it. Hi, i've been visiting Sarna for a long time now and just thought i should contribute something to this wiki and help the Battletech community as a whole. I started out doing minor edits here and there as an anonymous user (doing the FSS Excalibur, Valkyrie QD-2, Fed Suns academies notable graduates, 3rd Robinson Rangers history) but just decided to register and contribute in my free time. I'll be adding stuff mostly to the Federated Suns articles. Look forward to having fun here!
Hi all. Joined a bit ago and thought to say hello. I originally came across BT when the 3050 technical readout was first published and enjoyed it incredibly then. I've recently been reading up on everything that has happened since and I love where it has moved on to. Used to love Aerotech as well so I've made a few hexmaps for everyone to enjoy. I have a few other ideas but we'll have to see if any come to fruition. I hope to be able to add more original graphics in the future to create a bit more eyecandy for some of those bland pages and to skirt the copyright issue by creating them myself. By the way, love what you've done with the place.
Hey all! I go by Dave or MirageES, and I have been a fan of the BattleTech universe ever since I first played MechWarrior3. That got me into reading the books and I am now working on completing my novel collection. I tend to sympathize with the Warden Clans, and I sometimes irritate my friends and family by throwing clan terms into my sentences. My other interests include fast cars and racing. I am currently in the process of modifying my car and trying to increase performance. As for what I'd like to work on editing, I love reading about 'Mechs and learning about them, so if I ever get new info., or find a correction, that will be the first thing I will work on. In my spare time I also enjoy grouping 'Mechs by tonnage, purpose, firepower, capabilities, combinations that compliment each other, etc. I have whole spreadsheets full of information and grouping. I hope I can make helpful contributions here.
Hello everyone! I have forgotten more than I can remember about Battletech, since I was once very deep into the games, back in the 1980's. I am and was always a die-hard Battletech player and loved playing it for hours on end, even when I had many other things to do. I have limited myself to pre-3025 to 3040 era mechs, and never did get into the clans. Tho, they do make great reading and they do look awesome.
I have been re-included with my old battletech energies by joining a local Battletech group that meets weekly. I have still many things to relearn, but as with riding a bike, it does not take long to get back on.
I do enjoy writing some history, and I am in the process of writing some non-canon history of a current battlion in the 3040-3050 era. Again, I am a re-found BattleTech player, and I thank you all for writing up and about the Battletech world. Please have a nice day!
==TekTeam26==
Hello, all. I first started playing BattleTech back in the late 80's. I have also had about a dozen articles published over the years in BattleTechnology Magazine and MechForce Quarterly. I am the original creator of the non-jump capable WarShips known as Monitors (love them or hate them) I've mostly played the usual Mech games, though my main interest is with aerospace and BattleArmor. I am very fond of combined arms scenarios and stories that are set well outside the usual Great Houses. I am no longer an active BattleTech player, but am still very interested in current developments particularly involving WarShips and other large craft like Pocket WarShips. I created the original unit TekTeam Technical Services that was featured in several of my published stories like 'Saga of the Amaris Star'. I hope to add a full unit history for TekTeam Technical Services that includes future developments that had not been previously published. Enjoy the possibilities.[[Special:Contributions/71.74.86.252|71.74.86.252]] 22:55, 5 January 2011 (UTC)
71.74.86.252https://www.sarna.net/wiki/index.php?title=User_talk:Mbear&diff=155599User talk:Mbear2011-01-05T10:49:01Z
71.74.86.252: /* Question and Information */

::Yes, you'll note when you goto the Ozawa page, there huge gap on top of the page. I'm trying to get rid of those gaps. I have no coding abilities, so i'm not sure what causing it displace. I know only one thing thou, the Infobox has something to do with it. When its removed, it stops happening. I'm not sure if its the size or where it is. :::Using Ozawa as an example, I can see two possible causes for the problem you're seeing.
:I remember both you and Neuling aren't native speakers of English. (And I respect your efforts to learn such a messed-up language!) And I agree, Neuling has made a lot of very nice improvements to the Wiki. If I implied otherwise in my message to him, I'll apologize for that. :If you're working in the gallery I mentioned on the [[Task Force Serpent]] page, please realize that my comment wasn't "This sucks, get rid of it" it was "This is a great start, but could be so much better with just a little more effort." :I think you should change your formatting
:*so it's written in sentences rather than this list format
:*so it doesn't use the "+" sign in the lists, but does use a comma as the separator
:*so it uses the correct referencing system (<nowiki><ref>''Historical: Brush Wars'', p. 54</ref></nowiki>)

So instead of this:
;Planet:Repulse
;MAF Forces:Taskforce Duo (2nd Canopian Light Horse + 2nd Canopian Cuirassiers + 2nd Canopian Fusiliers)
;CCAF Forces:Kincade’s Rangers
;Outcome:The numbers count for the invaders but the Rangers had some training cycles with the Death Commandos. The used every possible tactic to soften the Canopian forces up. The Rangers went in the underground.
;Source:Brush War p. 54

It would read more like this:

On [[Repulse]] the Taskforce Duo (consisting of the [[2nd Canopian Light Horse]], [[2nd Canopian Cuirassiers]], and [[2nd Canopian Fusiliers]]) faced the [[CCAF]]'s [[Kincaid's Rangers]]. Though outnumbering the Rangers three to one, the Rangers had trained alongside the [[Death Commando]]s and used every possible tactic to soften up the invading Canopian forces. They then went underground to continue their resistance.

:There's no point in reinventing something that already exists (referencing system), and the lists you're using here are just one step away from a sentence based layout anyway.--[[User:Mbear|Mbear]] 16:13, 27 September 2010 (UTC)
I realize that i may be out line, to me it looks little sloopy. i know i haven't wrote very good gems and i'm grammer challenged. However, I feel the war should be written with more content. As Scaletail has commented, its multi-"war" event. I Believe it needs to be cleaned up in way where it tells the story of the Succession & the War Audriens fought during this time period. Its like its own era. Anyways, the new format comment comes from Neufeld edit. I disagree in way he wrote the conflict, if you would look at what i wrote for the history of the [[1st Defenders of Andurien|1st Defenders of Andurien's]] history section. I feel the article should be written like that, not blow to blow. I did write [[Operation: Ice Storm]], [[Operation: Sovereign Justice]], and [[Operation: Thunderstrike]] bit information in blow by blow format. That was only because there wasn't alot source material on it to expand what was going on, i didn't want overwhelm someone with too much info about it. -- [[User:Wrangler|Wrangler]] 18:24, 5 October 2010 (UTC)
:::I actually like what you did for [[Operation: Ice Storm]], [[Operation: Sovereign Justice]], and [[Operation: Thunderstrike]]. That format is the one I'd like to see as well. I don't think the setup used on the [[Andurien Secession]] page is good one at all. This list, though informative, lacks the depth we want here on Sarna. In addition, the "Source" line duplicates the reference tag system that's already in place. I don't want to just delete the work that's there however without talking to other people.--[[User:Mbear|Mbear]] 15:56, 6 October 2010 (UTC)
Hi Mbear, I will enjoy our cooperation by the war projects. Which is the best way to get the information from me and what is from your viewpoint the to display a timeline for every major faction? With best regrets [[User:Neuling|Neuling]] 18:34, 13 October 2010 (UTC)
:Neuling, sorry about the late response. Real life has been busy. At the moment I'm trying to clean out the sources needing updates page. To add the information, I'd make a subpage off your main page and put the information there. When you've added everything, just put a comment on my talk page and I'll get to it.
:I think we already have a timeline for each major faction. [[Star_League/Timeline]], [[Draconis Combine/Timeline]], [[Federated Suns/Timeline]], [[Timeline of the Capellan Confederation]]. I'd just use those as the format.--[[User:Mbear|Mbear]] 11:04, 19 October 2010 (UTC)
==Problem==
Hi Mbear, i'm not sure who around, but someone uploaded a non-canon imagine. [http://cf.sarna.net/docs/mwda_dossiers/2750th.png Terran Hegemony Map] appears to be a non-canon image but there no label stating it is. DO you know what were suppose to do about this? I've not dealth with a direct png image before. Usually these things have page that gives direction of the image. Someone thought the image uploaded was canon. I'm going ask Rev, but i'm not sure how often he comes around these days. -- [[User:Wrangler|Wrangler]] 02:31, 17 November 2010 (UTC)
:I'd just put a non-canon tag on the image page. If we're wrong, we can change it later.--[[User:Mbear|Mbear]] 11:33, 17 November 2010 (UTC)
::Its a direct image, i can't find anything to put a tag on it. -- [[User:Wrangler|Wrangler]] 12:44, 17 November 2010 (UTC)
:::OK. What you have to do is put in a link to the image like this: <nowiki>[[Image:2750th.png|Terran Hegemony Map]]</nowiki>. This will include the image on the page. From there, you can click the image and you'll be taken to the image's wiki page. Then you can add the tag you need.

Hi, Mbear,
I've never contributed to BattleTech Wiki before but I was wondering about perhaps doing so.
I would probably need some assistance in figuring out how to use your templates for an article on TekTeam Technical Services as well. Thanks.
71.74.86.252https://www.sarna.net/wiki/index.php?title=User_talk:Revanche&diff=155569User talk:Revanche2011-01-05T00:01:54Z
71.74.86.252: /* Question */

Hi Rev, hope you feeling better. Been while since i spoke with you. I have question/request. I have been recently doving into my files that could help update the Clan planet data. ==Possible Problems with Sarna==
Hi, Rev. I wanted report possible malware, but i don't want to sound like an alarmist. I left e-mail to Nicj as well, but until i started blocking it the ware was trying connect. What it is that when i was editing Sarna page. My browser was trying to connect to a weird website. This was from two differient computers. (http://contenlinks.netseer.com) Other Network computer i was using, the ones i have are old and dated so their slow. I clean out my cache as much as i can used virual scanners try get at what was reporting it. However, it wasn't until i wrote down the website used browser block sites option turn on. So I've blocked this website with my browsers. However, i'm wanted warn someone that there could possibly be something embedded in the Sarna's software reporting what were doing. {{unsigned|Wrangler|23 July 2010}}

[[User:ClanWolverine101|ClanWolverine101]] 19:11, 26 July 2010 (UTC)
::I don't think the bots have anything to do what my problem was. I hope was just my broweser. I just thought strange, i did extensive viral scans before it came up. ==Thomas Hogarth article deletion==

:::: I don't see why it should be dropped. --[[User:Scaletail|Scaletail]] 01:28, 5 August 2010 (UTC)
:::: Agree. The link to the original article will demonstrate how the article has changed from the original and, frankly, forked from the equivalent WP article.
Hy Rev, i know you left us a little time, what is your mention about my Garrisoning Military Force Project on the Planet Pages, i hope you like it ;O..., i want to start in the next future my work in progress project, to bring all Planetary project up to date with owner history, new corrected planet images with help full fluff by [[Oystein Tvedten]] works, NicJ make a little bit mess about coordinates etc. etc...i am in work, before i started i poste a example to you and Frabby (our planet honk);=, then again nice to see you back. Greetings --[[User:Doneve|Doneve]] 19:55, 13 October 2010 (UTC)
:Hey, Doneve. No slight on your efforts, but I'm still a bit of a hit & run admin right now. I DO want to review it, but don't yet have the time. Example: I used to be able to write myself while at work; now I pull 10-hour days. Keep charging, though! --[[User:Revanche|Revanche]] ([[User_talk:Revanche|talk]]|[[Special:Contributions/Revanche|contribs]]) 23:48, 26 October 2010 (UTC)
==Strange Users Names==
Hi Rev, couple of strange user names just got generated. Is there thing we can tell if their bots? The names are; Oxebydy & Uxewynefowi. -- [[User:Wrangler|Wrangler]] 22:50, 26 October 2010 (UTC)
:No way that I'm aware of. It is usually an attempt to see if the registration process is defeat-able (it is, of course) and to hide spam attempts, since the person is registered. Best idea, when you're spam patrolling, is keep an eye out for edits made by strangely-named accounts and take action then. --[[User:Revanche|Revanche]] ([[User_talk:Revanche|talk]]|[[Special:Contributions/Revanche|contribs]]) 23:49, 26 October 2010 (UTC)
:::Looks a Spam poster just did just that after i logged off. Doneve blanked the page. I've moved to have it deleted. I'm not sure what template i'm suppose to use for a random act of spamming. The person may not come back. Their name is Tz6524199 -- [[User:Wrangler|Wrangler]] 10:47, 27 October 2010 (UTC)
::::I check BTW almost daily for Spammers. When I see one, here's what I do: Block the SpamBot, delete user page & user talk page, and delete/revert any edits he made.
==Non-canon [images] of Terran Hegemony==
:Hope this helps. --[[User:Revanche|Revanche]] ([[User_talk:Revanche|talk]]|[[Special:Contributions/Revanche|contribs]]) 11:34, 17 November 2010 (UTC)
::Hi Rev, I apologize for the sloppiness. The problem is not complete. I've moved this directly correct section. The *.png [image] from what i've seen of it can not be "tagged". Its a pure [image]. I'm not that good [at] navigating the picture achives where [images] do not show up in a category form, thus [are] unsearchable, [at] least to me. -- [[User:Wrangler|Wrangler]] 12:28, 17 November 2010 (UTC)

Once it is not used, upkeep of images will show it is not a valued image and result in its deletion. --[[User:Revanche|Revanche]] ([[User_talk:Revanche|talk]]|[[Special:Contributions/Revanche|contribs]]) 18:55, 18 November 2010 (UTC)
==Other Non-canon imagines==
Hi Rev, sorry keep babbling like this, but some maps Neuling uploaded were from Columbus Cartographic Services. I realize that he became a Battletech freelancer, but i don't believe his work on website was considered canon. Should i put non-canon templates on those [images]? You can find what i'm talking about on [[:Category: Maps Gallery]]. -- [[User:Wrangler|Wrangler]] 02:44, 17 November 2010 (UTC)
:Sounds like you figured out the solution before I chimed in. Wish I had read this statement before answering the first. Yep: that sounds like the right path. Just be sure to use the non-canon product tag.--[[User:Revanche|Revanche]] ([[User_talk:Revanche|talk]]|[[Special:Contributions/Revanche|contribs]]) 11:36, 17 November 2010 (UTC)
==Minor Blakist Commanders==
==Use of Fan-made images==
At moment, i've left the above mentioned operation rat.png in place, with fanom template on it. -- [[User:Wrangler|Wrangler]] 23:51, 22 November 2010 (UTC)
:I've gotta ask: why do you keep writing "imagines" instead of "images"?
:Also, why do you think they are fan-produced? Did Neuling say he made them?--[[User:Revanche|Revanche]] ([[User_talk:Revanche|talk]]|[[Special:Contributions/Revanche|contribs]]) 00:04, 23 November 2010 (UTC)
::(sigh) I'm sorry, its a grammer-blind habit i have of misspelling things okay? Images he produced has no source. I have extensive collection of Battletech material, including the maps. I've not seen a modern imagine quite like that one, he has for Operation Rat. If its a canon image, from some obscure Battlecorp release or something, he needs clarifed the source of it. -- [[User:Wrangler|Wrangler]] 00:21, 23 November 2010 (UTC)
:::Can you please provide the link where he and you discussed this? ::::[[:File:Operation rat.png]] -- [[User:Wrangler|Wrangler]] 01:41, 23 November 2010 (UTC)
:::::Wrangler: talk with Neuling about this. '''If''' he says its official, get the details and correct it. '''If''' he says its modified (other than cropped), remind him once again that non-official material has no place in official articles (I'm this close to calling for the ban of all fanon materials with a mass deletion). '''If''' he doesn't respond to you (within a reasonable amount of time), remove the image from the article and mark it for deletion review. Hope that helps. I think its probably fine to post articles titled after the subject you want to report about. However, make sure the material is focused on the BattleTech sources (such as ''[[Classic BattleTech Companion]]''), rather than on real-world sources (like Wikipedia).--[[User:Revanche|Revanche]] ([[User_talk:Revanche|talk]]|[[Special:Contributions/Revanche|contribs]]) 23:49, 24 November 2010 (UTC)
==Question==

I would probably need some assistance in figuring out how to use your templates for an article on TekTeam Technical Services as well. Thanks.
71.74.86.252
